Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, flagged off the Motorcycle Expedition ‘Wheels of Valour’ from the Southern Command War Memorial in Pune on 04 October 2025.
The expedition, comprising a team of 14 motorcyclists, will cover a distance of approximately 2400 km across seven cities within the jurisdiction of the Southern Command. The ride commemorates the Diamond Jubilee of the 1965 Indo-Pak War and marks the 79th Raising Day of the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE). The Pune to Belgaum leg of the journey was ceremoniously flagged off by the Army Commander on the occasion.

The Wheels of Valour expedition has been conceived as a tribute to the unmatched courage, valour, and sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces. It aims to instil a deep sense of pride, discipline, and esprit-de-corps among the participants and inspire the younger generation to embrace the ideals of service and patriotism.
Jointmanship and Tri-Service Synergy
Highlighting the spirit of jointness and cooperation, the expedition is being conducted with the active participation of the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force, showcasing the synergy and mutual support that define India’s military capability.

Symbolising the core values of discipline, endurance, camaraderie, and national pride, the expedition serves as a reminder of the Armed Forces’ enduring legacy. It not only honours the heroes of the 1965 war but also reaffirms the unwavering commitment of the Indian Armed Forces to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
