Smt. Sonia Narang, IPS, Inspector General/APS, carried out a formal visit to the CISF Unit ASG Cochin, aimed at reviewing the overall security preparedness and operational efficiency of the unit. During her visit, the IG conducted a detailed inspection of several critical areas of Cochin International Airport, including the airport perimeter, Security Hold Area (SHA), access control points, and other vital operational zones. She also visited the CIAL Cyber Dome, where she was briefed on the advanced technological measures adopted to enhance airport security and cyber surveillance capabilities.
As part of her visit, Smt. Narang interacted with senior officers of Cochin Airport and CISF personnel deployed across various wings. She appreciated the coordinated efforts between CISF and airport authorities in ensuring seamless security management in one of the busiest airports in southern India. The IG commended the professionalism, alertness, and commitment of CISF personnel towards safeguarding passengers, aviation assets, and national interests. She further emphasized the importance of continued vigilance, technological upgradation, and adherence to standard operating procedures to counter emerging security challenges in the aviation sector.
