In a heartwarming act of bravery and compassion, troops of the Nurnag Battalion under the Saidpur Brigade came to the immediate rescue of civilians following a road accident on the Pithoragarh–Banbasa route in Uttarakhand. The incident highlighted the Indian Army’s enduring spirit of service from defending borders to safeguarding lives in times of crisis.
According to official inputs, the accident occurred when a vehicle carrying civilians lost control on the hilly terrain. Without a moment’s delay, soldiers from the nearby Army post, led by their Commanding Officer, rushed to the spot.
Displaying exceptional composure and readiness, they provided first aid to the injured and swiftly evacuated four civilians including two children to the nearest hospital for further medical care.


Their prompt and coordinated response ensured that critical help reached the victims in the golden hour, saving precious lives. This selfless act once again reaffirmed the Indian Army’s motto of service beyond duty, standing as a lifeline for citizens in times of need.
