New Bond Between India and Russia

0
New-Bond-Between-India-and-Russia

India’s border security and air defense field in these days is being given more importance. LoC, which is one of the strictly militarized areas of world need all-rounder security and response system. And this will be more accurate if it will be done by automatic weapons. Russia, an all-weather friend of India, ones again came closer to India. Indian defense minister Manohar Parrikar’s visit to Russia seems to be marking a new direction in relations of both the nations. Military technical cooperation agreement is signed between both the nations during the visit. S-400 is circulating in media as it is expected to be the biggest deal between both the nations which will cost about $5 bn. PM Narendra Modi’s meeting with Russian President Putin will leave the final mark on the deal.

S-400 Triumf air defense missile system is one of the best missile system for which several nations are approaching Russia. It is the new and upgraded version of S-300 .This missile system is capable of destroying any aircraft, missile in its range. Well, specific about it is that it can efficiently target stealth fighters and drones which are, these days emerging swiftly. The range of this system is given in its name i.e. 400 km and its radar has a tracking range of 600 km. The system has three kinds of missiles, which can fly at supersonic or hypersonic speed at short or long ranges (100-400 kms). The system comes with radar system that can track down and targets the pray and is known for its perfect targeting. The system is resistant of jamming. Defense GURUs are praising this deal, taking china and Pakistan into consideration.New-Bond-Between-India-and-Russia

Apart from this, Kamov 226t helicopters are also a part of India’s interest. Defense minister Manohar Pparrikar almost planned the deal for manufacturing of 200 Kamov helicopter in India under ‘Make in India’ which will be sealed during P.M Modi’s visit to Russia in December, this year. Sukhoi also got space during the discussions on the issues of supply of its spare parts of aircraft. India is also eying to get second nuclear-powered submarine on lease. Earlier, India had a deal of $900 million in 2012 for getting first Akula – II submarine (INS Chakra) on lease for 10 years. This deal was signed in January 2004.

With ongoing Chinese actions to dominate, India has to gear up for its defense and security forces. India’s inclination towards Russia and US for defense machines (S-400, Kamov, Chinook, Apache, etc.) is way forward for India to deter incoming external threats. China had also approached and signed deal with Russia for acquiring S-400 in the beginning of this year. India is now balancing the power with China by acquiring the same missile system. India is one of the fastest growing economy and has also shown political stability. But when it comes to the military functions, special attention is required. These days, Asia is going through several ups and downs. And India is also somehow being affected by the crisis and need to prepare for it.

Frequently Asked Questions in SSB (AFCAT and CDS) Part-3

0
Frequently-Asked-Questions-in-SSB-AFCAT-and-CDS-Part-3

TIPS

  • Try to give answer which is sufficient to cover the question’s requirement. Talking more or less will either raise more confusing questions or will show your insufficiency.
  • Good entry and exit matters a lot. First impression leaves the irremovable impact on someone’s mind.

Hobbies

Most of the people find questions about their hobbies very confusing. It is the question which can raise several other questions. First of all, whatever you write in your hobbies section on PIQ form, make sure you have perfect and complete knowledge of it. Hobby inculcates curiosity and curiosity, enhance knowledge. The questions that emerge from this topic are completely knowledge based. For example, if you have written reading books and repairing machines in your hobbies section of PIQ then you will encounter questions like what kind of books you like to read/ who is your favorite author, why you like these type of books, your best book, a summary of that book, what kind of machines you repair, what happens if something wrong happens and your gadget or machine damages due to wrong repairing, probing questions related to any specific device.

Relationship

Aspirants of CDS, AFCAT, SSC, etc. face questions related to this point. They are in the age of paving step to the marriage. So IO asks question about relationship. The question can be asked from girls too. The questions that can be asked are- do you have any girlfriend/ boyfriend, if no then why. Well, the age is the deciding time for a person’s future. So, it is better to focus on the future than to turn the direction to anything else. And if you say yes, then your answer will reflect several probing questions like relationship duration, caste matching or mismatching, what are your parents refusing to allow, why do you like him/ her or how is she different from other girls/ boys you met etc. So here, firstly you have to stay firm on your decision. If your friends are not agreeing, then try to convince them, but if they don’t think it’s not good to marry without parent’s consent. So, follow your parents and make him/her understand. IO can also put some entangled conditions in front of you related to this point. So answer as per your view, which will be better for everybody’s future.Frequently-Asked-Questions-in-SSB-AFCAT-and-CDS-Part-3

Smoking and Drinking

Being an experienced person, AFCAT and CDS aspirants are often asked about the smoking and drinking habits. The questions that can be raised are do you smoke or drink, why/ why not. Firstly, smoking and drinking are bad habit. Drinking occasionally is not bad as it is good for health if taken in limit. Don’t reveal your addiction in front of them.

What if you get conference out or recommended this time.

As per their mood and aspirant’s performance, this question is raised either in interview or in conference. First of all what will you do if you get failed this time. Try to give logical answers like failure is the teacher, which firstly punishes then teaches etc… Don’t show your glue attitude toward the army. If you will not make it this time, then try to get into some other job and keep on trying for army with better preparation and introspection rather than just appearing in SSB. Now what if you get recommended this time? Feel proud, inform parents, and will continue the medical phase. Make your own opinion in a simple way and don’t use exaggeration or over happy attitude.

Why did you got screened/conference out last time?

Well, repeaters are the target of this question. Screened out can say that they lack some communication skill or confidence. Now what you did to overcome this problem. You can say that you started communicating with friends in English, started reading English newspapers, watching English channels and movies to enhance communication skills and confidence. Now why did you have conference out last time? The answer of this question lies in your own performance of your last attempt. Introspect yourself and find out why did you got out last time.

No Shortage Of Officers In Indian Army | No Vacancies For Women And Engineering Students

1

With the latest notification of CDS 1 2016 Indian army has proved once again that they do not lack officers or maybe there is not much work in Indian army which women can do. This is quite contradictory to the Nari Shakti thingy happened on republic day few months back. Not only women, India army has reduced seats for men also, let’s see what is going on.

According to CDS 1 2016 notification, women seats are decreased from 11 to 5. So, as per the official notification total number of seats for women candidates every year through CDS exam is 10 because CDS exam is conducted twice every year. Just 10 seats every year !!!

No seats for women officers in Indian Army

There are so many deserving women candidates and they will fight for just 10 seats, which is quite funny because Indian army says they have a shortage of officers.

Indian army women seats

Let us assume that Indian army don’t want women officers and they have a shortage of men officers, but this is not the case, Indian army has reduced the vacancies through TGC and SSC technical entries. Indian army has increased the percentage cut off and removed many well-known engineering branches. Unlike earlier, Indian army is not considering branch equivalency which means If you are an “Electrical and Electronics” student you can not apply for TGC because only “Electrical” branch is eligible. Very funny.

No Seats for Engineers in Indian Army

In TGC 122 there were  20 – 30 different engineering stream eligible earlier, but in TGC 123 only 12 engineering branch are eligible and candidates other than these engineering branches are not eligible for TGC 123. Also, Indian army will not accept any branch equivalency as mentioned in the notification.

Earlier many candidates use to apply for TGC from different streams which get Indian army quality officers from a huge pool of candidates. But now only few engineering streams and most of these engineering streams are not available in private engineering colleges. So now candidates from IIT, NIT and other big colleges will join the Army. If you understand what we are trying to say!

Indian army is on the same track again, isn’t it the Delhi high court order in 2012 to fix the parity in engineering/technical degrees in India. The Center was asked by the Delhi High Court to set up a panel of experts who will be responsible for examine UGC recognized engineering degrees in various streams and decide an equality among them to facilitate Indian army aspirants.

Captain Gurbachan Singh Salaria

Hello, Warriors! Captain Gurbachan Singh Salaria was born on 29th November 1935 in Gurdaspur, Punjab. He did his schooling from Banglore Military School, Banglore and later on shifting to the King George School, Jalandhar.

In his later adult age, he joined the National Defense Academy at Khadakwasla with the cadet number 1317 and got selected in the ‘Bravo’ squadron. Captain Gurbachan Singh Salaria was an epitome of leadership and valor. He was the sixth recipient of the highest gallantry award- the Param Vir Chakra that was accredited to him posthumously for his unflinching devotion to his duty and dauntless actions in preventing the Katangese rebels from trapping the UN headquarters in Elizabethville, Katanga.Captain Gurbachan Singh Salaria

On 5 December 1961, 3/1 Gorkha Rifles was ordered to clear up a roadblock established by the gendarmerie at a strategic roundabout at Elizatbethville, Katanga. The plan was that one company with two Swedish armoured cars would attack the position frontally and Captain Gurbachan Singh Salaria with two sections of Gorkhas and two Swedish armoured personnel carriers would advance towards this roadblock from the airfield to act as a cutting-off force.

Captain Salaria with his small force arrived at a distance of 1500 yards from the roadblock at approximately 1312 hours on 5 December and came under heavy automatic and small arms fire from an undetected enemy position dug in on his right flank. The enemy also had two armoured cars and about 90 men opposing Captain Salaria’s small force.

Captain Salaria appreciating that he had run into a subsidiary roadblock and ambush and that this enemy force might reinforce the strategic roundabout and thus jeopardise the main operation decided to remove this opposition. He led a charge with bayonets, khukris and grenades supported by a rocket launcher. In this gallant engagement, Captain Salaria killed 40 of the enemy and knocked out the two armoured cars. This unexpectedly bold action completely demoralized the enemy who fled despite his numerical superiority and protected positions.

Captain Salaria was wounded by a burst of automatic fire in his neck but continued to fight till he collapsed owing to profuse bleeding. Captain Salaria’s gallant action had prevented any movement of the enemy force towards the main battalion’s action at the roundabout. It had also, prevented the encirclement of UN Headquarters in Elizabethville. Captain Salaria subsequently died of his wounds.

Captain Salaria’s personal example, utter disregard for personal safety, and dauntless leadership inspired his small but gallant force of 26 Gorkhas to hold on to their position, dominate the enemy and inflict heavy casualties despite the enemy’s superiority in numbers and tactical position. Captain Salaria’s leadership, courage, unflinching devotion to duty and disregard for personal safety were in the best traditions of our Army for which he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra.
