How to Gain Weight Before SSB Interview Medical Examination

0
ssb medical underweight treatment
“Patla papad” “lakdi” ” X Ray” and what not. You have heard these disgusting words many times, but you don’t know what to do. You really stuff yourself up to the brim, but remain the same. You have become habitual of the offensive and scornful remarks by the people of your entourage. Well, its time to get over the period of haplessness. For most of us, losing weight is an uphill task. However, gaining weight is much difficult than losing the same. It takes a disciplined and concentrated effort to achieve the desired weight.
Having a well controlled and fit body is very important for the point of view of the SSB interview. The medical guidelines for the selection in the forces are sacrosanct. Therefore, one must be within the range of the height-weight chart in order to be deemed fit for services. We will discuss certain diet and exercise tips which would enable you to gain weight in a healthy and safe manner.

DIET for Underweight
Being underweight is in no way a license to gorge on unhealthy fast foods like pizzas, burgers, puffs, pastries, noodles etc. Although you require more calories, these calories should be from a healthy source.
  1. Eat at least SIX times a day. Yes I am right, eating heavily 3 times won’t just do.
  2. Include milk shakes, peanut butter, bananas, mangoes, dry fruits in your diet.
  3. Snack on healthy items such as energy bars, fruit juices, vegetable sandwiches, pastas, etc.
  4. Cheese and paneer is a good source of nutrition for the vegetarians. While red meat, fish and eggs are an excellent and fecund source of calories for the carnivorous people.
  5. You should be eating something every 2 to 2.5 hours.
  6. Don’t take any supplement without consulting a renowned physician.

EXERCISE for Underweight
Diet alone will never lead to propitious outcomes. Your success is hinged upon the correct combination of diet and exercise.
  1. Professional gym is the best place to be in order to gain weight. Strength training exercises are very important to give you muscle and volumes to your overall weight
  2. If you can’t go to a gym, perform strength training exercises like surya namaskar, pushups, situps at home.
  3. Contrary to the existing belief, cardio is also a must to keep the balance of the body intact. 30 mins of slow walking or cycling (slow cardio) 3-4 times a week is recommended.
  4. Focus on full body exercises than individual muscle groups.
  5. It is advised not to club cardio and muscle training together. If you are doing muscle training in the evening, do some cardio in the morning and vice versa.
Just keep calm. Gaining weight is not that difficult as it seems to be. It is just a matter of few days and you will be able to see genuine results. Multitudes have been benefited by this regime and now it is your turn. If you have any persisting doubts just drop a mail at [email protected]
Stay tuned to ssbcrack for more such information. Stay happy, stay blessed.

SELF INTROSPECTION: Gateway To Success At SSB – Part 2

0

This article is in continuation of the series of self-introspection. Once you are ready to serve and have decided to walk on this path you need to possess a lot. Not one or two, but a set of fifteen pre-defined OLQ’s in which no relaxation is given at SSB while assessing them. But God has been gracious enough to give each and every quality to every person born on this earth. An immediate thought comes in that if this is the case why are there people who are carrying illegal activities and why is not everyone then selected at SSB? The fact remains that though the qualities are present in each and every one but the degree of variation takes place once you become a part and parcel of the cruel world and you and your mind is influenced by the surroundings, happenings and the people surrounding you.

These all activities which happens a part of your life affects your mind knowingly or unknowingly. The next stage helps in protecting yourself and analysing what is there in you.

  • Stage 2: Keep your mind-set positive so that you protect yourself sufficiently and don’t lose the essence of qualities that are present in you. As suggested earlier that all the qualities are present in you during the time of birth but their degrees differed in individuals and also by the way an individual is brought up. It’s you who are responsible for yourself and mould your personality as per the need. Protecting from the negative impact helps in your personality development and thus achieving success at SSB easily. The next stage is very crucial which helps in realisation of the fact that what you possess and what more is needed.
SELF INTROSPECTION Gateway To Success At SSB
  • Stage 3:  the next thing that an individual should do before starting preparation for SSB is to self-introspect so that he/ she knows what OLQ’s are there , what are the weakness of an individual and what needs to be developed. There are specific inventories that are there in market and I also provide to my aspirants taking the mentorship for assessment of their personality which facilitate change and smoothen the way for realisation of reality which can help in improvement. These inventories are specially designed after research which can actually help in predicting the individual’s status in a group and the dynamics that take place at SSB while an individual is surrounded by people from different regions and different nature. It’s very important to perform in excellent way in individual tasks while decent in group’s tasks too at SSB.
This process of analysis can take up to fifteen days and once the report is ready the individual knows the area he or she needs to focus upon. SSB is a simple place where if you reveal your true self, no one can stop you from getting selected and the simple mantra works for at SSB. Self-realisation is a powerful tool which helps to strengthen the weak links and then the journey to wear uniform is just a matter of performance at the SSB centre. In the next part of this series which is the last one we will see that what’s next that help in facilitating change of personality and how to go about it.

Indian Navy Day 2014

Indian Navy Day 2014
Indian Navy is the naval branch of the Armed Forces of India. It is operational since 1947. Navy Day is celebrated on 4th day of December every year. 4th December is not the day on which Indian Navy was raised. 4th December is the day on which Operation Trident was launched in 1971, against Pakistan, in the Indo-Pak War. So this day is celebrated to commemorate the successful start of Operation Trident, in 1947.

Operation Trident: On 4th December, India launched a naval strike on the Pakistan Naval Head Quarters. It was a part of the war India was fighting on behalf of Bangladesh to free the latter. So on 4th December, India launched a fast naval strike on the port of Karachi. The task group for the operation consisted of three Vidyut class missile boats, INS Nipat (K86), INS Nirghat (K89) and INS Veer (K82) from the 25th “Killer” Missile Boat Squadron, escorted by two anti-submarine Arnala class corvettes, INS Kiltan (P79) and INS Katchall (P81), and a fleet tanker, INS Poshak.

Operation Trident resulted in the first use of anti-ship missiles in combat in the region, and only the second worldwide (the first being the sinking of the Eilat) as well as the first sinking of naval vessels during hostilities in the region since World War II. Overall, the Indian Navy’s missile attack was carefully planned and executed well. The attack achieved complete surprise and was a shock to Pakistan’s Armed Forces Command. A disjointed and haphazard rescue operation was launched to locate and recover survivors of PNS Khaibar, while PNHQ was not aware of the sinking of PNS Muhafiz.

Certainly Operation Trident is a landmark in India Navy’s success. It is like a feather in the cap of Navy.  It’ll be celebrated with full josh today in Vizag. Full dress rehearsals were already held yesterday. According to the sources operation display will have 20 ships, 23 aircrafts and a submarine showcasing the capability and versatility of Naval ships, submarines, aircraft and the Special Forces. The event will begin with Chief of Eastern Naval Command Vice-Admiral Satish Soni laying a wreath at the War Memorial on the RK Beach.

SELF INTROSPECTION: Gateway To Success At SSB – Part1

SELF INTROSPECTION: Gateway To Success At SSB – Part 1

You have to grow from inside out, no one can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.”~~ Swami Vivekananda

Right said by Swamiji in that era and this is the real reality and the success path for SSB. Today let’s reveal one more secret for SSB to my dear aspirants. SSB is not a exam where you need to prepare for a year with lots of books surrounding you. There is no need of preparation but this does not mean you can go like this and stand at SSB. I am sure you be sent back with the next bus after screening. You should be familiar with the concepts of SSB, what is being looked and how you need to present yourself at SSB. No faking, nothing but yes you should spend at least three months to make yourself presentable.

You need to explore to realise what you really are and what you should be at SSB. The simple funda at SSB is to be yourself and express your life openly in front of officer. Once you try to cheat the system the system realizes it and throws you out. The assessors at SSB are well trained and are just looking for few qualities only. Yes I agree, you should be aware of the happenings in India and should have a decent aptitude to comprehend things, but this does not need any preparation, this is the least which we expect from the youth of our country. And such people are termed as responsible citizens of our country. But the reality that I am seeing these days is quite different. Aspirants approach me at the very last moment for some magic to prepare them. I am not a magician to improve personality in fifteen days. It has a streamlined process and now let’s see how to undergo self-introspection:

  • Stage 1: The process should start as soon as you realise that you want to be an officer. Officers are not created in a day. Remember after the stringent selection process they are trained in the academy for a year to convert them warriors and refine them and that’s why our defence force officers are different and can be easily identified in the crowd. If you are waiting for the last moment and want to get things easily you should be born with silver or rather I would say a golden spoon. But even if you are born that does not work in SSB. So what are you thinking start your preparation in time and prepare yourself for getting selected in the very first attempt.
    ssb interview SELF INTROSPECTION
C’mon don’t be eager for the uniform and the stars. Prepare yourself and think at least thousand times why you want to join this profession as it’s more than this. It’s a service rendered to the nation. If you are ready and want to prepare start with self-introspection. How to do it and what all is needed, we will try to cover in part two of this article series. So keep watching.

What To Do After Filling Forms for Defence Entry?

What To Do After Filling Forms for Defence Entry?

With December approaching along with chilling winter there are many notifications in the air that December will again open door of opportunities for the defence entrance. Aspirants! Gear up its time to get into action again. I can understand that it’s difficult to get up early, go for jog, exercise and get into fitness, but that’s the need of the hour and you have to do it if you have chosen a difficult pathway of serving our motherland. It’s gonna be anyway your daily job at Siachen. So why not start today.

Notifications for TGC-121 and AFCAT 2015 have been released by the respective forces and the forms gonna come soon in December. What should be the strategy for working after filling the forms? It’s really very easy. For direct entry the aspirants should work regularly to be fit and bring change in their core personality aspects which indeed need time. I have seen people waiting for the call letter and then stating preparation for SSB when there is hardly any time left. All AFCAT aspirants are expected to work hard for the written exam as the exam would be scheduled in February. Simultaneously the aspirants should start preparation for SSB as personality development and change is a long process and has a cycle period of about three months so work accordingly.
The few tips can quickly work for you:
  • Learn time management and decide on your priorities which can help you excel in limited time.
  • Start working over psychology as individual assessments are done there and it’s only you who need to perform at such a test. You can be decent in group performance but you need to be excellent in individual performance.
  • I have seen majorly psych defaults in case of repeaters so all those guys who belong to this category need to brush up the fundamentals of human psychology, understand the basic need and forget the preconceived ideas that are actually rubbish and blockage for their success at SSB.
    indian army recruitment
  • Don’t dare wait for the last moment else it’s a waste of time going for SSB without preparation. It’s not a free trip but a dream thousands of aspirant see every day. So work proportionately to achieve.
  • All the workaholic people who want to switch their job and see dreams of defence need to take out time from their busy schedules and work on psychology as that’s the most impacted entity due to the culture you belong to. So better be aware.
Still If you have any confusion or feel the need to take individual assessment of personality for olq’s or prepare from your place itself through one to one interaction through my mentoring / counselling program drop me a mail at [email protected]or add me on Fb and drop in a message. It would be a pleasure to clear the myths in the minds of aspirants and remove the blockage of queries as free mind helps in best preparation and concentrating on goal.

How to Emerge From the Shadows of Failure

1
How to Emerge From the Shadows of Failure

It is very easy to say “try try till you succeed”, but it is equally difficult to actually do it. I have personally met many SSB aspirants who just couldn’t take it anymore. Well, may be they were not suitable for the defence forces or they just bluntly gave up. Yes my dear friends, this article is specially for those who gave up despite having few more chances up their sleeves.

You were so optimistic at your start, you thought you are the perfect officer material but as the day went on, the optimism gradually transmogrified into pessimism and you eventually went in to inordinate darkness.

Now let us understand why does this happen? What are the ways to overcome it.
  1. CHECK YOUR MOTIVATION:- How motivated are you towards donning the coveted uniform. Over a period of time, your motivation levels suffered a great diminution. Probably this was the reason you gave up.
  2. WHY DO WANT TO JOIN THE FORCES:- Was it just another dabbling attempt or you really wish to serve the nation. We all have different reasons for joining the forces, if that reason is strong enough you shouldn’t be quitting any soon.
  3. HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF:- Do you have enough faith in your abilities. Do you see yourself as a winner or as a dilettante. An officer never thinks lowly  of himself, he is filled with high spirits all the time.
  4. HAVE YOU GOT AFFECTED BY THE OPINIONS OF OTHERS:- Your friends, peers, family members, all have started pulling your leg. You have become a butt of jokes. This is why you have lost hope and surrendered. If this is the case, you have all the more reason to prove your detractors wrong.
  5. IT IS NOT YOUR CUP OF TEA:- Probably the officer who gave the closing address was right. You are not suitable for the defence services. Suddenly you start thinking about Shah Rukh Khan, Abdul Kalam and Rahul Dravid. They made a great career in their fields but were not suitable for the forces. These are just soothing words, a religious defence enthusiast will never get flustered by these euphemistic words, rather will go back, make amends and come back.
    Officers Training Academy
Yes, there is no denial of the fact that each one of us has different abilities and it is just about identifying them. However, if you are crossing individual obstacles even in your dreams, then you are a veritable defence aspirant.
Therefore, it all boils down to your determination towards achieving your goal. Listen to the voice of your heart and take a final call. Whether to continue or to abscond midway. I am sure most of you will continue.
We will be throwing up some more light towards this topic in our upcoming articles, all you have to do is to stay tuned to SSBCRACK.

SSB Interview Motivational Series: Sylvester Stallone

“When the going gets tough, the tough get going.”

You have been to the SSB for several times.
You were too close yet too far from making it.
Now you are thinking to quit and see some other career option.
Hold your decision until the end of this article.
Presenting a series of stories of a few renowned people who refused to quit. SSBCRACK presents an all-new motivation series.
Prologue
Staying motivated all the time is an uphill task. We would be sharing the tale of some famous personalities who came across a similar situation but refused to bog down. Today we will discuss about the macho man Sylvester Stallone. From Rocky to the expendables, he has shown proved the mettle of his acting skills every time.  Only a few of us know that this revered Hollywood icon was once in a diabolical situation.
Born into a middle class family Stallone had a coarse childhood. He scored poorly at school and abandoned by his family members. His situation was so grave that he had to sell his beloved dog for $25. He wandered here and there and kept doing petty jobs.
Then drawing inspiration from Mohammed Ali, he penned a script (which now people know as rocky) about boxing. He wrote the script for 22 hours at a stretch.

sylvester-stallone-motivation

The turning point
He took the script to many producers. He had to face rejection for 1500 times. Although, a few were ready to pay for the script but did not accept Stallone’s condition. The condition was that Stallone would sell the script only to the person who allows him to play the lead role in the film. His persistence paid. A producer agreed but only gave him $35000 as compared to $250,000, which he would have got had he not starred in the film. The first thing he did with that $35000 was buying that dog for a whopping $15000.
Result
Rocky was an instant hit. It raked in about $200000000. Stallone had become a star overnight.
Just imagine what would have happened if he had taken the bait of that $250,000.
Lesson learnt
Never settle for anything less than what you deserve.
If Sylvester can endure rejection for an astounding 1500 times, why cannot we try for a couple of more times?

sylvester-stallone-motivation speech

Conclusion
Friends, when you think of giving up or start doubting yourself, just try to recall the lesson learnt today. You are striving for something extraordinary. Therefore, it requires exemplary persistence.
The assessors in the SSB are very happy to see the repeaters, contrary to the existing belief. This is the reason there is no limit to the number of chances one can avail for selection in the armed forces. You never know what course your life may take, it is all about that one more time.
Hence, pull up socks and restart the journey towards glory. We at SSBCRACK are all always at your service. Please be free to get in touch with us.
There are two kinds of people on the earth, the others and the defence lovers!“.

Speaking Skills for SSB Interview

0
Speaking Skills for SSB Interview

Voice is an important part of anybody’s personality. Having the correct tone, pitch and style can help you a lot even in SSB also. A correct voice tone enhances personality, adding strength to your overall appearance and creating impact on to the one’s around you.

Importance of having a correct way of speaking

In SSB many tasks are there where your speaking skills count. Beginning from day 1, i.e. the screening procedure itself, you need to have a good speaking skill. In stage 1 testing itself, you are required to participate in a GD, narrate your own story etc.
It demands a good speaking style. Then when you proceed to stage 2 testing also, there are a number of places you need to have  a good way of speaking. You have to participate in GD, where again you need to have a good voice. There is lecturette which is like an extempore speech, of course you need to have an impressive way of speaking here. Then you have to face the interview, where of course you need it.
An officer has to command a troop of soldiers, he/she is responsible for motivating them, boosting their confidence. Most importantly they should be able to communicate what all is there in their mind, and speech is the most important way of communication. So here is the importance of having good speaking skills.
How to get it?
There are a lot of things which count when it comes to speaking:
  • Tone: It should be not very rude, not very feeble, just a perfect firm one.
  • Pitch: You voice shouldn’t hurt the other person’s ear. For people having high pitched voice, do not speak very loudly.
  • Loudness: You need to be perfectly audible to your audience
  • Modulation: Nobody likes a monotonous tone, you need to modulate your voice with the grammar in the sentence, pause, stop, highlight important things.
  • Speed: The speed should be just right. Do not be a jet and neither a snail while speaking
  • Gestures: Too many gestures are not good.
    Speaking Skills for SSB Interview
You cannot achieve a perfect voice and style within a day. You need to work on it for a long duration of time. You can start by practicing the voice in 5 levels. Shout 1, 2 ,3 ,4 and 5 in different levels. 1 with the loudness that the person sitting next to you can hear you and 5 so that a person 30 meters away can hear you. Cover the rest in between. To improve your speed, start reading loudly. This will modulate your voice also. Remember that the modulation needs to come naturally otherwise it’ll sound very made up and fake. Another very important thing about speaking is eye contact. When you do not make an eye contact you lose audience. So start practicing. Time yourself, to control your speed. Speak about 150 words in one minute for a perfect speed. Speaking slow is always better than speaking fast, because it gives you some additional time to think also.

Defence Related Questions for SSB Interview

1

When we go to SSB, we see a lot of candidates having immense knowledge about the forces. That gives us a complex, many times, as we are not having so much of knowledge. Many of you are from a civilian background, many of you go there for getting a job and rather are not that passionate about the forces.

Many of yours’ childhood dream was probably not the forces. But then there are people who have knowledge about everything in the forces, right from the trainers, to the fighters, from squadrons to regiments, from the oldest weapons to the latest ones, from the historic wars to the war heroes, practically everything. You on the other hand are awestruck. We’ll look into detail on what is important and what not, and does having knowledge about the forces really help?

What is essential? There are a few things which you are expected to know about the certain organization which you are going to join. These things include:

  • Commands, headquarters. (of the service you are going to join)
  • Ranks
  • A few aircrafts/guns/weapons/ships
  • Few missiles
  • Chief of staff
  • Information about anything related to defence, if you have in your city.
  • Recent Defence deals
  • Name of the defence minister
  • Major wars
  • What your job profile will be

If you are from a defence background or any of your family member/close friend is in defence you need to know a few additional things:

  • Fine details about the work of the person you know.
  • Everything, about the unit/squadron the person works in.
  • Details about the aircraft/ship if associated.
  • You’ll be asked anything and everything related to the organization if you have your sibling or parents in it.
spot_img

Does it help? As mentioned above, you are expected to know a few things about the organization you are going to join. It shows that you are dedicated to join it and that you are sincere in your attempt. Whereas lack of any knowledge shows that you are very casual about your attempt. If you are working and still manage to get hold of a few information about the forces then that will definitely help you, as it’ll cast a good impression that you are hardworking and found time out of your busy schedule to read about the forces. Of course this will never form the basis of your selection, but it might form a basis of your rejection, if you do not know anything. SSB is a collective test, the results depend on the collective result of the small tasks which form a part of the whole testing. Interview is a major part of it and you can be tricked around this part if you have not prepared well for it, in the interview. For those of you having a defence background, you are expected to know a great deal, as you have been living in that environment since childhood. If you fail to answer then that shows your lack of awareness about your surroundings. So in order to be fully assured of your success, why not prepare well for it in advance. After all if defence is your aim, you’ll not like to leave any stone un turned to join it.
