GD Topic Series: Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana

0

This is the latest financial inclusion scheme by our prime minister, Narendra Modi in the month of august 2014. The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana scheme announcement was the part of the announcement that he made during Independence Day.

OIR Test eBook SSBCrack

This scheme was launched keeping in mind the compulsory ownership of bank accounts by each and every citizen. A lot of schemes were launched for the underprivileged by the earlier government that needed transfer of benefits to the beneficiaries, but due to the lack of accounts that was not possible for many of them, and there involved a lot of corruption where full money that the beneficiary might get was not reaching the right hands.

TAT ebook part 1 ssbcrack 324x324 1

Keeping all these things in mind the new government took the initiative of getting every citizen a saving account that could fetch the basic necessities of life for them.

When the scheme was launched in India, to everyone’s surprise, 15 million accounts were opened on the very first day. SBI was the largest player due to the well-spread structure which opened about 30 lakh accounts under this scheme which had about 85% accounts of the rural population while the remaining 15% for the urban population.

The Prime minister in his letter to various heads of banks all over India mentioned that having a saving account in a bank was a matter of National priority. The bank account is a zero balance account initially that has been opened for the people and has a Rupay debit card facility attached to it. Also, the accidental cover of 1 lakh rupees is provided with the opening of the account.

Lecturette Topics eBook SSBCrack

This process was defined as a cashless and digital economy conversion for India by elite people and has been welcomed like anything. The success can be measured by the intensity with which people opened the accounts and the count is still increasing.

The beneficiary and economist also described the scheme as financial freedom to the citizens, seeing the benefits that these accounts bring in. This could be an important topic that could be given in upcoming SSBs and hence I thought to brief the minute details that could be used in GD. Please remember the following when speaking in GD:

  • Always supplement what you speak with lots of examples.
  • If data could be inserted to what you speak, facts become clearer and hence weight is added and group acceptance is easy to achieve.
  • Avoid the fish market situation in GD and keep working towards the common goal as a team and not the as an isolated body.
  • Give everyone a chance and don’t keep speaking as it never leads to selection.

I would take more topics that can be part of GD discussions and would provide details that can be helpful in GD. Important topics have already been suggested by me and can be checked in previous articles by me on our website. How to deal fish market situation would be taken separately by me in another article.

What Not to Do in Personal Interview?

What Not to Do in Personal Interview?

Personal Interview is a part of SSB testing. We would call it one of the most important part because it is generally taken by the board president, who is the senior most in the board or by any other fairly senior officer. Personal Interview is an important part because you interact with the officer directly, one on one. The questions asked in the personal interview generally revolve around your life, your hobbies, the people in your life and the world around you. With a bit of care and preparation you can do very well in your interview. However in this article we are telling you what not to do in the interview:

  1. Do not take your dress lightly. We are not asking you to wear Armani, but a decent pair of formals. It should fit you well, neither too loose nor tight. It should be well ironed and your shoe must be properly polished. You also need to comb your hair well.
  2. If you are going there directly from your GTO, then don’t unnecessarily rush to change, it’ll only create a situation of chaos for you. Rather wash your face, relax for five minutes and take deep breaths. They only fixed your interview at that time, they know that you are coming from GTO.
    ssb%2Binterview
  3. Do not slouch. It goes both for when you are walking and when you are sitting. The interview is a long process; you have to sit on that chair for a long time. With time do not slouch, sit smartly with a correct posture, it is not advised to cross your legs or sit cross hands. Walk smartly when you get up. Your confidence is very well reflected through that.
  4. You don’t need to go and shake your hands with the IO. If he initiates go ahead and shake hands smartly. Never initiate a shake hand yourself.
  5. Do not go and directly sit on the chair. Go wish him or if he initiates shake hand with him and stand near your chair, do not sit until he asks you too.
  6. Never get fooled by that smile he holds. They are trained to smile. They’ll smile, make you comfortable and make you speak things you never want to tell. Never get too friendly with the IO, there is a distance which you maintain with a teacher, your elders, same is the case with him.
  7. Do not deny the questions he is asking you, like for example situations. He might give you a situation like, ‘what if I want to marry your sister’, if he said that situation that means he is asking you to assume, answer accordingly, do not say that ‘I don’t have a sister’.
  8. The biggest mistake that candidates do is denying the situation. If he is saying something agree to it and think what will you do in that situation.
  9. Never ask stupid questions to the officer that what your job will be, or some super smart candidates ask, how was your SSB sir. It is better to say no questions than asking a foolish one.
  10. Never lose your confidence, they’ll put you under pressure but make sure you deliver.

There is No Greater Time to Act Rightly than the Present

OTA pop

This article I’m writing down not to provide any tricks or mantra to crack ssb but just to boost up our readers who never want to give up on failures. Guys, the present alone is the only time when we can Work and Achieve, Gain and Gather, Give and Share. In the past we can now do nothing; in the future, again, we can now accomplish nothing. These living dynamic present moments are the only fields to be hammered at and wherein are all the glories of life, all the gains in existence. From the future, time floods over our standing in the present, and gushes out to swirl with the continuous echoes of the past. Delays are always dangerous, useless, and barren. Today is the only day to attempt any great and worthy purpose. Opportunity comes to all of us, the diligent catch hold of it; foolish let it pass.
Let not fear of failure or fear of obstacles that might come, slow you down even a bit. Don’t worry about whether you are better than somebody else or not but keep giving your best.  Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to become the best of which you are capable.
OTA pop
Guys, there is no greater time to act rightly than the present. When our vision is true and our goal is divine, we need not hesitate at all in tumbling ourselves into action. It is unnecessary to brood over our in capacities and inefficiencies. Bring the best that is in each and start the job at hand. The bright beginning made each day can become the early dawn of the day of achievement.
Guys, today belongs to us. Yesterday was; tomorrow will be; but today is with us. Every day is bursting with opportunities for us to do, to serve and to act. We must make use of these lush chances and diligently make our life rich, fruitful and useful for others at all times. Do those things necessary to bring forth your personal best and don’t lose sleep worrying about the competition but let the competition lose sleep worrying about you.

Defence Aspirants Never Lose Hope

1

One of the things in life that can be very frustrating is working hard yet not knowing if our efforts are, or will be, any use. We work our socks off at our job not knowing if we will ever be considered for a promotion. We prepare for an interview not knowing what is expected from us to guarantee the job. Similarly, we prepare and go through ssb by ssb not knowing if we will be recommended.  This uncertainty is nothing but natural. How much preparation is enough? Are our efforts going to be worthwhile to achieve our goals? There is really no way to answer these questions. What we need is to have faith that our efforts will not go astray.

ssbinterviewbook

What if I told you that the fastest person at one point in history spent most of her childhood in bed because she was unable to feel one of her legs?  You don’t believe me? But yes, that’s absolutely true. Guys, this time I brought to you a story of Wilma Rudolph, which I’m sure, will inspire you. Wilma Rudolph, an American athlete was considered the fastest woman in the world in the 1960s. At the age of six she had lost the use of her left leg and she was told to be confined to the wheelchair for the rest of her life. But she was the one who go beyond the goal. Despite her inability, she wanted to run on these legs and wanted to be the fastest woman on earth. Within a couple of years she began to walk again, by age 12 she was taking part in races(even though she would finish last in most of them) and by 20, she had won three Olympic gold medals in running, setting world records. It was all that perseverance to become as good as she could be, plus her faith that her efforts would one day lead her to become the quickest woman in the world, that took her to the top of the podium.

oir test and ppdt

It’s the fact that anything worth achieving requires its quota of effort and most importantly, it is persistent effort and firm that takes us to our goals. Expecting results may result in us giving up too soon. In Wilma Rudolph’s struggle, we can observe how all these factors led her to achieve something that was unthinkable at one point in her life. She didn’t settle for a mediocre goal, she wanted to be the fastest in the world and she strived to be the best and being the best calls for hard work. Let us remember Wilma Rudolph not as someone graced with the miracle to walk again after she was destined to be in a wheelchair, but someone who knew that hard work always pays off. Even if it doesn’t pay in the way you want it to, it does in the way you need it to. So guys keep putting your efforts and never lose hope!

How to Prepare Psychology for AFSB Interview

1
psychology test preparation

“Worry is a total waste of time. It doesn’t change anything all it does is steal your joy and keep you very busy doing nothing” ~~ Anonymous

Psychology round at AFSB is designed to test your brain waves so as to get the idea that in which direction you think. You would hear people saying that all you intend to do in a SSB is to mention heroic acts, be positive. This is not at all wrong but the excess of this myth might lead to disaster. Remember the following:
  1. Keep your mind tension free
  2. Worry is the root cause of failure
  3. Thinking good about yourself is must
  4. Self-appreciation must be practiced regularly
  5. Result oriented approach never takes you to results.

Please remember that in a AFSB where assessors are very expert and trained to read human behavior you also need to act smart and remember the mantra “Don’t try to show off, just be yourself” If you follow this simple mantra sure shot success is there. When people try to make use of their brain and try to mould and modify their thought process they are caught and rejected. Psychology round judges how much your brain resembles you and your actions which would come alive during the course of SSB. So do we need to fake here? Strictly, not… Just be you. The various rounds for Psychology are:

    • TAT: which means story writing based on your visualisation
    • WAT: framing sentences based on thought process you get after seeing words
    • SRT: Reacting to situations of daily life
    • Self-appreciation: How much you know yourself and how much you think others know about you.
 OIR Test Coaching

This simple round makes the psychology test. It’s of utmost importance to succeed in this round as it determines whether you are suited for Indian defence forces or not. Remember the following for sure shot success and ensure that you believe:

  • You are the best:  Though you might have failed several times in life, but still you are the best if you had tried sincerely for your dream Competition is stiff and there are lakhs of people running for the same thing .Not making does not mean you are bad. It simply means you need to try more as there are still people better than you. Believe in yourself and keep trying success gonna be yours. If you stop trying it simply means you lack a quality and you quit easily which simply means you are not at all fit for the defence force and it gives justification to the fact that you were not selected.
  • No word is negative if you have positive approach:  It’s the way that makes change in your perception and you become good or bad in a situation or starts getting good or bad thoughts about a thing. So see everything positively and see the magic that gets your thought process change suddenly and you would be the one enjoying each and every moment of this life.
    psychology test preparation
Nothing is tough in life; it’s the thought process that makes things tough and easy. Enjoy and be positive. At the end all the images formed by the assessor should match with what you are which leads to recommendation. Still if you feel the need of individualised assessment and mocks from your home itself through my mentoring or counselling or you have a query bothering your mind which hinders your preparation drop me a mail at [email protected] or add me on Fb and drop in a message. It’s always pleasure to resolve doubts of future officers and help them get ready to serve the motherland. It’s not just a job , it’s a profession leading to service and commitment towards every citizen of India.

    Latest Defence Deals
The government feels that national security is of prime importance and once these deliveries are made and the fleet is joined our forces would become stronger.
  • Avoid fish market situation in GD and keep working towards the common goal as a team and not as isolated body.
  • Give everyone chance and don’t keep speaking as it never leads to selection.

What to Prepare after CDS Written Exam?

0
cds exam preparation

One of the most common cause of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat~~ Napoleon Hill”. Serving our motherland is far less a job but a glory that one achieves while doing so in life. Defence life is also full of adventure, fun and toughness and that’s why thousand s of aspirants always keep trying for these forces. That’s why the process to enter the forces is highly scientific and is based on testing competencies which are known as OLQ’s in defence language through various assessments spanning over five days. These OLQ’s are nothing but the traits that are needed to serve our motherland better. Hence the selection process has been made stringent and has a high rejection rate. There are various ways to enter the defence forces, some have written exam, some are direct entries but SSB is same and common for all the entries.

CDS exams are over now and one must be feeling relaxed after the hard work that aspirants have put in. But let me tell you this is not the right time to relax as written exams are only over and it’s just a way to reduce crowd and select few apt people who are then tested in SSB. The real test would be to clear SSB where you are being judged at conscious, sub conscious and unconscious level of minds. These are taken through different testing modes and are divided in three parts of GTO, PI and psychology. Remember you will be assessed by different assessors and different competencies are being assessed every time so that there is no chance to make mistakes in analysing candidates. The following things are needed for preparation now:
  • Start working on your personality as I have seen people waiting for the result but then preparation time is very less and full improvements cannot be done.
  • Psychology needs time to bring about a change in personality and adapt the new measures by the experts. Always look for individual guidance as your personality is quite different from others so everything while learning also cannot be clubbed together.
  • I have seen my mentees struggling with stories in TAT or PPDT and writing things as per the myths that they hear from their friends. It does not work that way. Few essential elements should be there. Apart from that you should something that reflects you in a true sense and only your OLQ’s
    cds exam preparation
  • Improve your communication as it is sufficient to build the very first good impression. Start practicing things now and take mock tests under guidance.
  • General awareness is something that needs a huge time to prepare because of its boundary less syllabus and value. Start if immediately after the CDS exam and keep adding to your knowledge base.
  • Keep your body fit and exercise regularly from now onwards. What all you would do after getting call letter? Don’t wait for the last moment as officers don’t do that. It’s better to start some things early.
  • And please spend time in analysing your personality, if you feel any difficulty take the help of experts who are having time to guide you on one to one basis.
 OIR Test Coaching

Don’t rest and waste time. You have to work hard for your dream and then only the possibility of clearing SSB would be a reality. Good things are achieved only through hard work. Still If you feel the need of individualised assessment and mocks from your home itself through mentoring, counseling that I provide or you have a query bothering your mind which hinders your preparation drop me a mail at [email protected] or add me on Fb and drop in a message. It would be a pleasure to help and resolve queries and clear doubts which are more often myths that are present in the place and help you identify the right path.

Role of Communication Skills in a GD

0
group discussion

GD is a selection parameter for almost all good exams and this test judges a lot many things of the candidates. Effectively GD judges 3-4 OLQ’s in one go for a candidate. So GD could be a good opportunity to prove yourself and your qualities which no doubt would be tested through other tests in the series. What and how should a GD be done has already been cleared in my previous articles. In this article I will focus more on what is the role of effective communication.

Communication is really very important as it leads to a clear flow of data in the group and everybody contributes to get the problem resolved or discuss the minute of the details for the topic given. Communication does not simply means speaking good English, a lot more is needed for this. The member having effective communication skill should have the clear idea of what the topic is all about and what and how to represent the data for it. The data flow in a particular order is the most important so that the clear information flows from one end to the other. Also in this manner his points would be accepted by the group and more additions to the information could be done. The following could be helpful:
  • Effective communication can lead to attention of the group and group member acceptance builds in. This is a very essential quality of a person because during the time of crisis one should be radically accepted by the group so that the team performs well in the time of crisis.
  • Also every time a person speaks there should be a value add in the discussion and not just speaking skills are being shown. If value addition is felt, members will go along and this can work in positive direction for the aspirants.
  • GD and debate are always different. There you can hold a motion and continuously speak for the motion or against, but in GD a clear viewpoint needs to be established related to the topic.
  • Supplement points with examples and happenings of the world so that every member can relate to it.
  • Even if you want to interfere or say something in between say using words like excuse- me or please listen gentlemen or i agree with you, but…. Using these add an emotional value and works for your advantage.
    group discussion
At the end GTO would ask someone to conclude and the leader is chosen by the group consent, so work accordingly so that you could be the one. Body language is very important and I would deal it in a separate article. Still If you feel the need of individualised assessment and mocks that can be taken from your home itself through my mentoring program or you have a query bothering your mind which hinders your preparation drop me a mail at [email protected]or add me on Fb and drop in a message. It would be a pleasure to help and resolve queries and clear doubts which are more often myths that are present in the place. Believe in yourself and it really works magical in SSB.
