UPDATE: Indian Army has published the SSB Interview Dates for TES 48 Course. The date selection link for the SSB interview for the TES-48 course has been opened on 29 September 2022. The link will remain active till 03 October 2022 at 12:00 hrs.

The TES 48 shortlisted applicants can now choose their SSB interview date using the available link. Selection Center East Prayagraj, Selection Centre North Kapurthala, Selection Centre Central Bhopal, and Selection Centre South Bangalore will all host the TES 48 SSB interviews.

Candidates who have been shortlisted receive their TES 48 call letter by email and SMS. Candidates can check in and choose their SSB date on the Indian Army’s official website.

TES 48 SSB Interview Important Instructions:

For the SSB interview, print out of online application must be accompanied by original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies i.e. 10th class certificate issued by the Board concerned (CBSE/ State Boards/lCSE) in which the date of birth is reflected for proof of date of birth (Admit card/Mark sheet/Transfer/Leaving Certificate etc. are not acceptable as proof of date of birth) and 10+2 certificate and mark sheet for proof of education and a copy of the result of JEE (Mains) 2022. Revised mark sheets issued by a Board/University after the last date of submitting an online application will not be accepted for this course. Shortlisted candidates will be detailed to undergo SSB interviews from Oct 2022 onwards.

TES 48 Age Limit: A candidate must not be below 16½ years and above 19½ years on the first day of the month in which the course is due to commence i.e. the candidate should not be born before 02 Jul 2003 and not after 01 Jul 2006 (both days inclusive).

TES 48 Educational Qualification: Only those candidates who have passed 10+2 Examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from recognized education boards are eligible to apply for this entry. The Vacancies are provisional and can be changed depending on the training capacity at the Training Academy for this course. The vacancies are subject to increase/decrease keeping the organizational requirement at the point of time.

TES 48 Training

  • Basic Military Training: 1 year (Officer Training Academy Gaya).
  • Technical Training: (i) Phase-I (Pre Commission Training): 3 Years (CME Pune or MCTE Mhow or MCEME Secunderabad), (ii) Phase-II (Post Commission Training): 1 year at CME Pune or MCTE Mhow or MCEME Secunderabad.
  • Award of Degree: The candidates will be awarded Engineering degree after successful completion of the final examination. No ante date will be admissible to candidates on account of this Engineering degree. During the last two semesters, the officers will be permitted only one relegation on academic grounds. This relegation will be within the maximum two relegations permitted on academic grounds in the entire Engineering degree (8 semesters) in accordance with JNU Ordinance. Any further relegation of the officer on academic grounds will lead to termination of his commission.
  • Type of Commission: On successful completion of 4 years of the course, cadets will be granted Permanent Commission in the Army in the rank of Lt.
  • Seniority: They will be granted seniority on overall order of merit of the three technical institutes combined i.e. CME, MCTE, MCEME and in case the date of commissioning coincides with that of IMA, Dehradun, they will be placed en-block junior to IMA (NDA/ ACC / DE Course ) but above TGC / UES course.

Fixed Stipend for Cadet Trainng: The gentlemen cadets will be given a stipend of ₹ 56,100/-p.m.* as is admissible to NDA cadets on completion of 3 years training. On completion of 4 years training, they will be commissioned in the rank of Lt and entitled to pay as admissible to the rank.

TES 48 Selection Procedure

  • Shortlisting of Applications. Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications based on cut off percentage applied as decided. After shortlisting of candidates, the Centre allotment will be intimated to the candidate online.
  • After allotment of Selection Centre, candidates will have to log in to the website and select their SSB dates on a first come first serve basis.
  • Only shortlisted eligible candidates depending on the cutoff percentage will undergo SSB at one of the Selection Centres i.e, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka) or Kapurthala (Punjab) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer.
  • Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued by respective Selection Centres on candidate’s registered e-mail ID and SMS only. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of Directorate General of Recruiting, Integrated Headquarters of MoD (Army) and NO request for changes are entertained in this regard.
  • Two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interview is five days and details of the same are available at the official website of Directorate General of Recruiting www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. This will be followed by a medical examination for the candidates who get recommended after Stage II.
  • In the eventuality of being recommended by SSB, candidate should have no objection for undergoing medical examination by board of Male/Female doctors.
  • Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be issued joining letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available.
  • The finally selected candidates will execute all the Bonds/Certificates as prescribed for the Cadets of NDA entry under AI 53/78.
  • The candidate will not have any objection in the event of final selection, on allotment of any Arm/Service in the interest of organisation.

In a career spanning over nearly 40 years, Lt Gen Anil Chauhan had held several command, staff and instrumental appointments and had extensive experience in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu & Kashmir and North-East India.

Born on 18th May 1961, Lt Gen Anil Chauhan was commissioned into the 11 Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army in 1981. He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. In the rank of Maj General, the officer had commanded an Infantry Division in the critical Baramula sector in the Northern Command.

Later as Lt General, he commanded a corps in the North East and subsequently went to become the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command from September 2019 and held the charge until his retirement from the service in May 2021.

In addition to these command appointments, the officer also tenanted important staff appointments including the charge of Director General of Military Operations. Earlier, the officer had also served as a United Nations mission to Angola.

The officer superannuated from the Indian Army on 31 May 2021. Even after his retirement from the Army, he continued to contribute to national security and strategic matters. The only female Weapon System Operator in the deadly Sukhoi-30 fighter fleet of the Indian Air Force said on Tuesday that pilots in the eastern sector were prepared to respond to any situation in the region and demonstrate their mettle in actual operations despite the ongoing military deployment along the China front.

We have had bright women who have shattered the glass ceiling and paved a road for us to follow our goals to serve the country, said Flight Lieutenant Tejaswi, India’s first Weapon System Operator of the Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft fleet in an interview with media.

“Having women in the fighter aircraft fleet is no longer a novel experience. Everyone works and trains just as hard, men and women included. We each have an equal voice. We are all air warriors first and foremost in the air and on the base, and everything else comes second, she continued.

6 IAF Officers Charged with Murder after Air Force Cadet Found Dead

Following the discovery of a 27-year-old cadet trainee dead on the college campus, six air force officials have been charged with murder in Bengaluru, according to the police. According to reports, the event happened on Saturday at the Air Force Technical College (AFTC) in Jalahalli.
The cadet trainee allegedly committed suicide after a court of inquiry was ordered against him.

In his note of suicide, the cadet trainee Ankit Kumar Jha identified officers with the ranks of air commodore, wing commander, and group captain.

Ankit Jha’s family claims that he was subjected to frequent abuse and torture on the college grounds.

Ankit Jha was relieved of his duties after disciplinary action was started against him, claim the investigating officers. Training of deceased Under Trainee Flying Officer was terminated by IAF on charge of misconduct after complaint by a fellow female trainee officer: IAF official statement.

With regard to the FIR registered against IAF officers for murder with regard to the suicide of Under Trainee Flying Officer (UTFO) Ankit Kumar Jha, IAF says His training had been terminated on 20 September 2022.

His training was terminated after informing his father of the same. Termination of training was the result of recommendations made by a Court of Inquiry (COI), which was instituted following a complaint by a fellow woman trainee officer against the UTFO on 30 June 2022.

It had been established that the cadet had committed certain acts of misconduct. The Inquiry proceedings were duly examined at multiple levels before being approved at Air HQ, as per established procedure on the subject, says IAF.

A Court of Inquiry by IAF is underway to establish the circumstances leading to the death of the UTFO. On 24 September 2022, his kin visited AFTC. They were briefed about the incident.

IAF adds that it condoles the unfortunate loss of life and prays for strength to the bereaved family in their time of grief. IAF is cooperating with the investigation being conducted by the police on the matter.

Being from a naval background, I’ve always admired the work of the people in the armed forces. My father’s passion for his work sparked my interest in joining the armed forces especially the Navy. The opportunities that I got, the people that I met and the values I picked up from my parents and elder sister enabled me to achieve this goal of mine.

From a very young age I was an attentive student and a fast learner. My parents encouraged me to participate in various sports and extra-curricular activities in school. I started to enjoy participating, pushed myself to be more competitive and started seeing the results. I still remember the gold I won in the 25m race in Upper Kindergarten after which I never looked back.

My consistent efforts in academics and extra-curricular activities gave me good results and my teachers always motivated me to keep doing better. I went through it one day at a time and only focused on my task ahead. I would call my parents every evening and talk about the day and they assured me things would go well. At the end of every task I would gain more and more confidence.

On the conference day, this time I wasn’t too nervous deep down I knew it went well. The conference was short and soon the results were announced. The assessor did not go chest number wise and my chest number 6 was announced. I along with 7 others were recommended and the great part was that out of 8, 3 of us came in the same train compartment and also lived in the same room before entering the SSB.

I thought I wouldn’t cry but when I heard my mother’s voice on the phone congratulating me I couldn’t hold back the tears of joy. I had made my family very proud and there is no better happiness than that.

UPSC has published the result of the NDA 2 2022 written exam that was conducted on 4th September 2022. Around 8509 candidates have cracked the NDA (II) 2022 written exam and will be facing the NDA 2 2022 SSB interviews for their respective services.

On the basis of the result of the written part of the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination, (II) 2022 held by the Union Public Service Commission on 04th September, 2022, candidates with the under mentioned Roll Nos. have qualified for interview by the Services Selection Board (SSB) of the Ministry of Defence for Admission to Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of the National Defence Academy for the 150th Course and for the 112th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 2nd July, 2023. The result is also available at Commission’s website www.upsc.gov.in.

Meet Indian Air Force First Women Chinook Pilots

At a time when India and China are locked in a protracted border dispute, the Indian Air Force has for the first time assigned two female combat pilots to its frontline Chinook helicopter units that are crucially supporting the army’s deployments close to the Line of Actual Control (LAC), including transporting light howitzers, in the northern and eastern sectors. 

Before being transferred to CH-47F Chinook units headquartered in Chandigarh and Mohanbari in Assam, respectively, Squadron Leaders Parul Bhardwaj and Swati Rathore were flying the Russian-made Mi-17V5 helicopters.

Recommended From SSB Kapurthala SSC Tech 59 SSB interview Industrial and Production Branch AIR-1. Shivansh Vats from Roorkee, Uttarakhand was successful in his third attempt at getting through SSB Kapurthala and was recommended for the SSC Tech 59 course Industrial and Production Branch AIR-1 to join the prestigious institute OTA Chennai.

He got recommended on the third attempt and his SSB interview performance for the Industrial and Production branch earned him an AIR-1. Previously Shivansh was also recommended for NDA entry from SSB Allahabad but was medical out. He went to SSB Allahabad for the second time for SSC Tech 58 Entry but was conferenced out. What is Indian Army SSC Tech Entry?

SSC Tech is a special entry for male and female engineering graduates to join the Indian Army as SSC officers, there is no written exam in this entry and if shortlisted you will be called for the SSB Interview directly. Applications are invited from eligible unmarried Male and unmarried Female Engineering Graduates for a grant of the Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army. The course will commence at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Candidates who have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or are in the final year of Engineering Degree course are eligible to apply.
