Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander, Northern Command, visited key formations and units across North and South Kashmir to conduct a comprehensive review of the prevailing operational environment and security preparedness.

During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma assessed ground-level readiness and ongoing counter-terror and counter-infiltration measures in sensitive areas. He interacted closely with troops and staff at the Joint Control Center, where he emphasised the critical importance of close coordination, unified command, and seamless synergy among all stakeholders to effectively counter emerging and evolving threats.

The Army Commander highlighted that enhanced inter-agency synergy is vital for achieving dynamic operational control, real-time intelligence sharing, and improved situational awareness. He noted that effective coordination between the Army and other security agencies significantly strengthens the ability to respond swiftly and decisively to challenges on the ground.

Commending the professionalism and vigilance of troops operating in demanding conditions, Lt Gen Sharma exhorted all ranks to maintain high standards of preparedness, adaptability, and mission focus. The visit reaffirmed the Northern Commandโs commitment to robust security management and integrated operations aimed at maintaining peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir.
