TA Syllabus 2019

STANDARD: The standard of the papers in Elementary Mathematics will be a Matriculation level. The standard of papers in other subjects will approximately be such as may be expected of a graduate of an Indian university.

Territorial Army Exam Syllabus 2022

Paper – I. Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics.
(a) Part – 1. Reasoning. The question paper will be designed to test the candidates ability to complete sequences making logical conclusion based on simple patter of numbers, statements, figures, letters etc as may be expected of a rational thinking person without any special study of the subject.

(b) Part – 2. Elementary Mathematics. (i) Arithmetic. Number System – natural numbers, integers, rational and real numbers. Fundamental operations – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square roots, decimal fraction.
(ii) Unitary Method. Time and distance, time and work, percentages, application to simple and compound interest, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, variation.
(iii) Elementary Number Theory. Division algorithm, prime and composite numbers. Tests of divisibility by 2, 3, 4, 5, 9 & 11. Multiples and factors, factorization theorem, HCF and LCM. Euclidean algorithm, logarithms to base 10, laws of logarithms, use of logarithmic tables

(iv) Algebra. Basic operations, simple factors, remainder theorem, HCF, LCM, theory of polynomials, solutions of quadratic equations, relation between its roots and coefficients (only real roots to be considered). Simultaneous linear equations in two unknowns-analytical and graphical solutions. Simultaneous linear equations in two variables and their solutions. Practical problems leading to two simultaneous liner equations or in equations in two variables or quadratic equations in one variable and their solutions. Set language and set notation, rational expressions and conditional identities, laws of indices.
(v) Trigonometry. Sine x, cosine x, tangent x when O° < x < 90°. Values of sine x, cos x and ten x, for x = 0°, 30°, 45°, 60° & 90°. Simple trigonometric identities. Use of trigonometric tables. Simple cases of heights and distances.
(vi) Geometry. Lines and angles, plane and plane figures theorems on

  • Properties of angles at a point.
  • Parallel lines.
  • Sides and angles of a triangle.
  • Congruency of triangles.
  • Similar triangles.
  • Concurrence of medians and altitudes.
  • Properties of angles, sides and diagonals of a parallelogram, rectangle and square.
  • Circle and its properties, including tangents and normal.
  • Loci.

(vii) Mensuration. Areas of squares, rectangles, parallelograms, triangle and circle. Areas of figures which can bisect into the figures (field book). Surface area and volume of cuboids, lateral surface and volume of right circular area of cylinders. Surface area and volume of spheres.
(viii) Statistics. Collection and tabulation of statistical data, graphical representation-frequency polygons, bar charts, pie charts, etc. Measures of central tendency.

Paper – II. General Knowledge and English.

(a) Part – 1. General Knowledge. General knowledge including knowledge of current events and such matters of everyday observation and experience in scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. The paper will also include questions on history of India and geography of nature which candidates should be able to answer without special study.
(b) Part – 2. English. The question paper will be designed to test the candidates’ understanding of English and workman – like use of words. Questions in English are from synonyms, antonyms, reading comprehension, Para jumbles, error spotting, jumbled sentences, sentence correction and fill in the blanks

CANDIDATES TO ENSURE THEIR ELIGIBILITY FOR THE EXAMINATION: The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. The mere issue of the Admission Certificate to the candidate will not imply that his candidature has been finally cleared by the competent authority.

  • TIME: Maximum time for each paper is 02 hrs and will be conducted in two sessions.
  • TYPE OF EXAM: Objective (OMR Answer Sheet will be used).
  • QUALIFYING MARKS: Minimum 40% marks in each part of the paper separately and an overall average of 50%.
  • PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS: Candidates should note that there will be a penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
  • FEE DETAILS: Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs 200/- (Rupees two hundred only). Territorial Army Traning Duration 2022

  • One month of basic training in the first year of commission.
  • Two months annual training camp every year including the first year.
  • Three months Post Commissioning training within the first two years at OTA, Chennai.

Territorial Army Selection Procedure 2022

  • Candidates whose application forms are found correct will be called for screening (written exam followed by interview only if passed in written exam) by a Preliminary Interview Board (PIB) by the respective Territorial Army Group Headquarters.
  • Successful candidates will further undergo tests at a Service Selection Board (SSB) and Medical Board for final selection.
  • Vacancies of male and female candidates will be determined as per organizational requirements.
Territorial Army Selection [Step By Step]

Territorial Army 2022 Terms and Conditions

  • The territorial Army is a part-time concept with mandatory two months of training in a year and does not provide a full-time career.
  • Serving in Territorial Army does not guarantee pension and the same is subject to embodied service as per organisational requirement.
  • Commission is granted in the rank of Lieutenant.
  • Pay and Allowances and privileges will be same as Regular Army Officers when embodied for training and military service.
  • Promotions upto Lt Col by time scale subject to fulfilling laid down criteria. Promotion to Colonel and Brigadier by selection.
  • Officers commissioned in Infantry TA may be called out for military service for longer duration depending on the requirement.

A candidate who qualifies in the written test of Preliminary Interview Board is required to bring the following documents in original along with self-attested copies at the time of Preliminary Interview Board:

  • Application Form IAF (TA)-9 (Revised) Part-2 to be downloaded from www.jointerritorialarmy.nic.in and fill it up in their own hand writing.
  • All educational qualification certificates (Matric onwards).
  • Latest physical fitness certificate from a registered MBBS Doctor.
  • Copy of Identity proof with photographs (Voter ID/PAN Card/Passport/Driving license etc).
  • Domicile/ Residential proof.
  • Certificate for proof of age (Matric/ Senior Secondary mark sheet and certificate for verification of date of birth).
  • Service certificate by candidates employed in Central Govt/ Union Territory/ State/Semi Govt/ Private Sector Authenticated by Head Office along with salary certificate and No Objection Certificate by the department as per format given below.
  • Self employed candidates are required to submit an Affidavit on Non-Judicial stamp paper of minimum value duly attested stating nature of employment and annual income along with photocopy of PAN card and self certified character certificate.
  • Candidates whose names vary in documents should submit copy of Gazette notification of India/ State showing the correct name or an affidavit duly supported by newspaper cuttings.
  • Latest income proof from the appropriate authority (i.e. Income Tax Revenue Department / Magistrate / Employer).
  • Copy of PAN Card.
  • Copy of Aadhar Card.
  • Copy of latest Income Tax Return (ITR) filed.
  • Employees of Railways are required to submit No Objection Certificate authenticated by Railway Board.

How TA will check you are gainfully employed or not? : During your PIB interview, you need to submit the latest Income latest income proof from the appropriate authority and Income Tax Return documents, that will explain your monthly salary/income.

India Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari says, “Happy to announce that the upper age limit (for recruitment) has been revised to 23 years. This will benefit the youth. The recruitment process for Indian Air Force will begin from 24th June.”

Agnipath is a new HR Management scheme for Armed Forces. Candidates inducted through this scheme will be called Agniveers. These Agniveers once enrolled into the Indian Air Force, will be governed under the Air Force Act 1950, for a period of four years. Endeavour will be made to enroll candidates as Agniveers from all parts of the nation, utilising contemporary technology (online STAR exam and associated testing methods), specialized rallies and campus interviews at recognized technical institutes such as Industrial Training Institutes, NSQF etc. Agniveers would form a distinct rank in the IAF, different from any other existing rank.

As part of the enrolment process, each ‘Agniveerwill be required to formally accept all terms and conditions of the AGNIPATH Scheme. For personnel below the age of 18 years, the enrolment form will need to be signed by the parents / guardians, in accordance with extant provisions.

Post the period of four years, all Agniveers will go back to the society. However, based on organizational requirements and policies promulgated by the IAF, Agniveers who have exited will be offered an opportunity to apply for enrolment in the IAF in the regular cadre. The skills gained by each Agniveer will be captured in a certificate to form part of his resume. These applications will be considered by a centralized board in a transparent manner and not more than 25% of the strength of the specific batch of original Agniveers will be enrolled in the IAF based on performance during their four year engagement period as Agniveers.

Agniveers will not have any right to be selected for further enrolment into the Armed Forces. Selection will be the exclusive jurisdiction of the Government. The enrolment as airmen into the regular cadre of Indian Air Force except for Medical tradesmen, will be available only to those personnel who have completed their engagement period as Agniveers.

Eligibility. ‘All India’ ‘All Classes’.

Age Limit, Educational Qualification, Physical Standards. Eligible age will be in a range from 17.5 years to 21 years. Other educational qualifications and physical standards would be issued by the Indian Air Force. **Note: The Government of India has decided to increase the upper age limit of Agniveers to 23 years. Earlier, it was between 17 to 21 years.

As per the official statement, “The Government of India has decided that a one-time waiver shall be granted for the proposed recruitment cycle of 2022. Accordingly, the upper age limit for the recruitment process for Agnipath Scheme for 2022 is increased to 23 years.”

Medical Standards. Agniveers will have to meet the medical eligibility conditions laid down for enrolment in the IAF as applicable to respective categories / trades. No permanent Low Medical Category Agniveer will be eligible for continuation of his engagement after being placed on Medical Category.

Employability. Agniveers enrolled under this entry are liable to be assigned any duty in organizational interest, at the discretion of the IAF.

Uniform. To encourage and recognize dynamism of youth, a distinctive insignia will be worn by Agniveers on their uniform during their engagement period.

Honours and Awards.   Agniveers will be entitled to honours  and awards, as per extant guidelines governing the subject for the IAF.

Training. On being enrolled, individuals will be imparted military training based on organizational requirements.

Assessment. IAF will endeavour to maintain a centralized high- quality online database of ‘Agniveers’ and will follow a transparent common assessment methodology. An objective assessment system to ensure fair and impartial assessment will be introduced. Skills attained by Agniveers will be systematically recorded. Broad guidelines will be  framed before appointment of the first batch of Agniveers and the same along with any subsequent changes would be circulated.

Leave. Grant of leave will be subject to exigencies of the organization. The following leave may be applicable for Agniveers during their engagement period:-

Annual Leave.    30 days per year.

Sick Leave.         Based on medical advice.

Medical and CSD  Facilities. For the duration of their engagement period in IAF, Agniveers will be entitled for medical facility at Service Hospitals as well as CSD provisions.

Release At Own Request. Release at own request prior to completion of engagement period will not be permissible for Agniveers except in exceptional cases, with approval of the Competent Authority.

Pay, Allowances and Allied Benefits. Individuals enrolled under this Scheme will be paid an Agniveer package of Rs. 30,000/- per month with a fixed yearly increment. In addition, Risk and Hardship, Dress and Travel allowances will be paid.

Agniveer Corpus Fund. A non-lapsable dedicated ‘Agniveer Corpus Fund’ will be created in the interest bearing section of the Public Account head. The fund will be administered and maintained under the aegis of Ministry of Defence (MoD) / DMA. Each Agniveer is to contribute 30% of his monthly income to Agniveer Corpus Fund’The Government will provide interest rate equivalent to the Public Provident Fund on the amount accumulated in the fund.

On completion of the engagement period of four years, Agniveers will be eligible to receive ‘Seva Nidhi’ package, which shall comprise their contribution (into the Agniveer Corpus Fund) and matching contribution from the Government and interest on the accumulated amount. In case of individuals who are subsequently selected for enrolment into the IAF as regular cadre, the ‘Seva Nidhi’ package to be paid to them will comprise only of their contribution including accrued interest thereon. The ‘Seva Nidhi’ will be exempt from Income Tax.

In case of Agniveers exiting before the end of their engagement period in their own request, the ‘Seva Nidhi’ package to be paid to them will comprise only their contribution including accrued interest thereon.

Remuneration Package. Details of monthly  remuneration, Agniveer Corpus fund and one-time Seva Nidhi package are indicated below:-

Note 1:       Agniveers will not be required to contribute to any Provident Fund of the Government.

Note 2:       There shall be no entitlement to gratuity and any kind of pensionary benefits in the case of Agniveers.

Payment Modality – ‘Seva Nidhi’ Package. Two options to receive the Seva Nidhi package will be provided to each Agniveer, with an aim to provide financial loans for self-employment / entrepreneurship through a bank Guarantee as also to meet immediate / incidental expenses, on exit. Details will be issued separately by GoI.

Life Insurance Cover.  Agniveers  will  be  provided   life   insurance cover of Rs. 48 lakhs for the duration of their engagement period as Agniveers in the IAF.

Compensation for Death. In case of death, the following will be admissible to Next of Kin (NOK) from the Agniveer Corpus Fund:-

  • Insurance cover as applicable (as per Paragraph 22 above)
  • All other compensation as per details at para 29 below.

Compensation for Disability. In case an individual is placed in Permanent Low Medical Category (LMC), the authorities will assess the percentage of disability and attributability. Such personnel will be discharged from IAF on medical grounds post payment of lump-sum compensation as per details listed at para 28 below.

 Agniveer’ Skill Certificate. At the  end  of  the  engagement period, a detailed Skill-set certificate will be provided to the Agniveers, highlighting the skills and level of competency acquired by them during their engagement period.

Ex-Agniveers enrolled for Four Years.Ex-Agniveers who are selected to be enrolled in IAF as regular cadre on completion of four years, will be governed by existing terms and conditions of service of airmen/NCs (E) in the Indian Air Force, as amended from time to time.

Categorization of Death.  The death for the purpose of provision  of financial benefits to Agniveers will be categorized as follows:-

  • Category X. Death due to natural causes neither attributable to nor aggravated by military Service during the engagement period.
  • Category Y.    Death due to causes which are accepted    as attributable to or aggravated by military service or due to accidents/mishaps in the performance of duties including training during the engagement period.
  • Category Z.     During the engagement period, death due  to acts of violence/attack by terrorists, anti-social elements, enemy, during border skirmishes/war/peace keeping operation/aid to civil power, etc; and during operational preparation and training for war including battle inoculation training/exercises; and accidental deaths due to natural calamities/operations specially notified by the Govt, etc.

Computation of Extent of Disability. The extent of disability or functional incapacity shall be determined in the following manner for the purpose of computing the disability compensation:-

Agneepath or Agnipath Scheme was recently launched by the government in an effort to bring a change in the recruitment process of the Armed Forces. With the new military recruitment scheme facing backlash, Centre has decided to bring a change in the upper age limit for recruiting Agniveers.

Granting a one-time waiver, Centre on June 16, 2022 announced that the Agniveer upper age limit for recruitments via Agnipath Scheme has been extended to 23 years from 21 years.

Issuing an official statement on Agnipath Scheme, Defence Ministry said that the one-time waiver in the upper age limit has been granted as no recruitments have take in place in last two years. Experts believe that the decision also comes at the backdrop of Agnipath-related protests that have been erupting in several parts of the country.

10 Things IO Doesn’t Like About You In SSB Interview

Our interaction with an interviewing officer in SSB talks more about the personality and qualities we possess. We may or may not have necessary OLQs, but sometimes we may have all abilities to get recommended, but we don’t know how to show them at right time. All these are because lacking preparation, carelessness, or overconfidence. In this post, we discuss the very common things which a normal and experienced IO doesn’t like in a candidate.    

1.  It is hard to catch when you lie, I lied: Ahh, you are not even a good liar, do you plan and lie or do you lie spontaneously, depending on the situation?  If you fall under the second category, then it may take years for you to get recommended or perhaps in the next life.  I am not saying all recommended candidates were ‘Harishchandra’  neither I suggest lying to get recommended, but the whole point of discussion is, if you get caught or IO felt something fishy in your statements, you are done.

  • What is not lying?  Hit and try in GK a question is not lying.
  • What is lying? Contradicting the statement mentioned in your PIQ form, saying something unexpected, unable to answer counter questions, and letting the IO know from your body language that you lied.
  • If you lie something about your personal life and get caught, IO won’t take any chance to screw his career.

2. You look Lazier than the guy who created the Japanese flag: None like poor body language, not only in SSB but in other areas, one has to be an active participant, you are there for a special purpose and you got a golden chance. Be like a gentleman and be active during a personal interviews, be cheerful and lively, and enjoy the personal interview.

3. Why you are nervous, it’s not a war zone: It is a war zone for us, getting nervous is normal for most of us, but IO doesn’t know this because it is daily work for him. He won’t count your nervousness as an excuse. You have to control your nervousness if you want to be in, else pack your bag and wait for another call letter.  

4.  Kid you have super intelligence, you are good to be a scientist: Avoid showing or saying something they don’t ask for and speak up to a level that satisfies IO and you. Don’t add something extra to your answer; you might face some more unexpected questions which might put a negative impression on your performance. It is not bad to have a high intelligence level, but it is not always required everywhere.  

5.  You are emotional: Nothing bad if you are emotional, but who cares? The point is, you might face certain questions which can make you emotional and you might think that it helps you gain some place in IOs heart. Getting emotional in between interviews may spoil your performance, and trust me, it never helps either.  

6.  Where your confidence is: You might not be good in studies or sports, and you may not have big achievements, but how do you verify the worthiness of your life and your place in defence forces is counted? One must be confident and responsible for what he does and did in his life, IO may force you to regret not getting 80% in 12th but it depends on you whether you support your hard work in getting 75% in 12th or regret not getting extra  5% because you were indulging in sports as well. You have to support your past and present, no one else will do it for you.  

7. Do you even prepare before stepping in: Especially for repeaters, if you are not able to answer the same rapid-fire questions in a personal interview again, it clearly shows the level of your preparation. But IO can figure out one quality from this “you are careless bro”. At least show that you have prepared this time. That is why you always face the question “Why you were not recommended last time,” if you don’t know the answer, you are still unprepared.

8. You are here for a time to pass:  When you are interested in joining some organization, it is most likely that you have done homework about that organization, if you are interested in joining Army then at least you must know basic questions related to the army. If you don’t answer such question properly, it may have a bad impact as well.  

9. Don’t mess with me: If you think being aggressive on IO may help you to portray your image as a strong man, better go for Jawan Bharti Mela or Roadies, IO doesn’t give a damn.  

10.  You have surrendered: There are mainly two ways followed by candidates, one is, just totally surrender himself in front of IO and start dancing to IO’s song. That candidate loses the ability to use his brain and IO can completely judge his negative qualities because it is more likely to be visible at that time. On the other hand, an average candidate is confident and faces each and every question and replies to the counter questions with confidence, sometime he may not agree with IO’s point of view on certain discussions, but he can deny it in a polite way, this shows he has brains and he thinks after listening and before speaking. IO would better take chance with the second candidate.

Bottom line:

You don’t need to focus on these many things at the time of PI, but if you are confident and well-prepared all the qualities come naturally. Just be simple during PI and go with preparation, “you can pass ssb interview without preparation” is not a myth, but only 0.01% passed it without any preparation. UPSC has published the merit list of NDA 2 2021 today. A total of 462 candidates have cleared the SSB Interview for NDA 2 2021 examination. The merit list is without the medical status of the candidates.

The results of Medical Examination have not been taken into account in preparing these lists.

The Test comprises of Intelligent Test (O.I.R) and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (P.P.D.T.). The tests are aimed to find out the analyzing ability of the candidate to gauge their inner mind potential.

Importance of O.I.R & P.P.D.T

Most of the candidates are not aware of the both part of Screening or Phase I Testing importance. First of all, candidates must know how these tests help them to clear Phase-I.

So we are discussing the first O.I.R: The marks obtained in this test is mostly used to make the overall merit at the national level after a recommendation in Phase-II Testing and clearing the Medicals.

How to Clear Day 1 Screening Test in SSB Interview

But the P.P.D.T: is the most important part of Phase-I Testing because candidates’ selection for Phase-II Testing is full depended on it only. Your performance in this test decides whether you will stay for another 4 days or not. P.P.D.T has two parts such as:

  • Picture Perception and
  • Discussion Test

Terms in Picture Perception:

  • Candidates have to write a story within 5 minutes and 30 seconds through a hazy picture how to divide this time we mention below:
    • 30 sec for watching pictures only.
    • 1 min for writing some particulars in the available box in the answer sheet, it includes No. of Characters, their Age, Sex & Mood, and candidates also mention what’s going on in the picture in the Action.
    • After that 4 min for writing the Story. It has some important terms such as Age, Sex, Character, Mood, Past (What he did), Present (What’s going on), and Future (What will he do).
  • When candidates write the story then they must have to show any of the OLQs by their central character or hero.
  • Try to give the name of the central character is on your friends only because it is rememberable during the narration of the story in the next part.

Tips in Discussion Test:

  • Narrate your story confidently with a good clear voice because the first impression is the last impression and nobody can stop you for 1 min (except assessors).
  • Never look at the officials while the narration of the story or while engaging in the discussion.
  • Listen to the speaker don’t look anyway.
  • Keep proper body language as per the Group Discussion because this shows your confidence.
  • Try to talk at least 2 times then definitely you have a chance for selection. It is not necessary to talk all time.
  • Give your ideas & views only don’t argue with others.
  • Keep patient listen, be cool and maintain proper body language.
  • Help the weak members to talk.
  • In the end, keep smiling and walk with your head held high & upraised chest. This shows that you are confident in your participation.

Indian youth to serve in the Armed Forces. The scheme is called AGNIPATH and the youth selected under this scheme will be known as Agniveers. AGNIPATH allows patriotic and motivated youth to serve in the Armed Forces for a period of four years.

The AGNIPATH Scheme has been designed to enable a youthful profile of the Armed Forces. It will provide an opportunity to the youth who may be keen to don the uniform by attracting young talent from the society who are more in tune with contemporary technological trends and plough back skilled, disciplined and motivated manpower into the society. As for the Armed Forces, it will enhance the youthful profile of the Armed Forces and provide a fresh lease of ‘Josh’ and ‘Jazba’ whilst at the same time bring about a transformational shift towards a more tech savvy Armed Forces – which is indeed the need of the hour. It is envisaged that average age profile of Indian
Armed forces would come down by about 4-5 years by implementation of this scheme.

The national stands to immensely benefit by infusion of highly inspired youth with deeper understanding of self-discipline, diligence and focus who would be adequately skilled and will be able to contribute in other sectors. The dividends of a short military service to the nation, society and the youth of the nation are immense. This includes inculcation of patriotism, team work, enhancement of physical fitness, ingrained loyalty for the country and availability of trained personnel to boost national security in times of external threats, internal threats and natural disasters.

This is a major defence policy reform introduced by the Government to usher in a new era in the Human Resource policy of the three Services. The policy, which comes into immediate effect, will hereafter govern the enrolment for the three services.

Benefits to the Agniveers

Agniveers will be given an attractive customised monthly package along with Risk and Hardship allowances as applicable in the three services. On completion of the engagement period of four years, Agniveers will be paid one time ‘Seva Nidhi’ package which shall comprise their contribution including accrued interest thereon and matching contribution from the Government equal to the accumulated amount of their contribution including interest as indicated below:

The ‘Seva Nidhi’ will be exempt from Income Tax. There shall be no entitlement to gratuity and pensionary benefits. Agniveers will be provided non-contributory Life Insurance Cover of Rs 48 lakhs for the duration of their engagement period in the Indian Armed Forces.

During this period of service to the nation, the Agniveers will be imparted with various military skills and experience, discipline, physical fitness, leadership qualities, courage and patriotism. Post this stint of four years, the Agniveers will be infused into the civil society where they can contribute immensely towards the nation building process. The skills gained by each Agniveer will be recognised in a certificate to form part of his unique resume. Agniveers, on completion of the four year tenure in the prime of their youth, will be mature and self-disciplined with the realization to become better version of himself/herself both professionally as also personally. The avenues and opportunities that will open up for their progress in the civil world after Agniveer tenure would certainly be a big plus towards nation building. Moreover, the Seva Nidhi of approximately Rs 11.71 lakhs would aid the Agniveer to pursue his/her future dreams without the financial pressure, which is normally the case for young people from the financially deprived strata of society.

The individuals, selected for enrolment in the Armed Forces as regular cadre, would be required to serve for a further engagement period of minimum 15 years and would be governed by the existing terms and conditions of service of Junior Commissioned Officers/Other Ranks in Indian Army and their equivalent in Indian Navy and Indian Air Force and that of Non Combatant enrolled in the Indian Air Force, as amended from time to time.

The scheme will lead to much more youthful and technically adept war fighting force by ensuring a fine balance between youthful and experienced personnel in the Armed Forces.

Terms & Conditions
Under the AGNIPATH scheme, the Agniveers will be enrolled in the Forces under respective Service Acts for a period of four years. They would form a distinct rank in the Armed Forces, different from any other existing ranks. Upon the completion of four years of service, based on organisational requirement and policies promulgated by the Armed Forces from time-to-time,
Agniveers will be offered an opportunity to apply for permanent enrolment in the Armed Forces. These applications will be considered in a centralised manner based on objective criteria including performance during their fouryear engagement period and up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveers will be enrolled in regular cadre of the Armed Forces. Detailed guidelines will be
issued separately.

Enrolment will be undertaken through an online centralised system for all three services with specialised rallies and campus interviews from recognised technical institutes such as Industrial Training Institutes and National Skills Qualifications Framework, among others. Enrolment will be
based on ‘All India All Class’ basis and the eligible age will be in range from 17.5 to 21 years. Agniveers will meet the medical eligibility conditions laid down for enrolment in the armed forces as applicable to respective categories/trades. The educational qualification for Agniveers will remain as in vogue for enrollment in various categories. {For example: For entry into General Duty (GD) soldier, the educational qualification is Class 10}
