NDA 1 2020 Maths Paper Analysis

Going through topic wise analysis of questions we can deduce that the Trigonometry topic covered highest ever count, i.e. 25 questions out of 120 questions that’s approx. 22% of the paper, including most of the questions on Trigonometric Ratios varying between easy to moderate level of difficulty. And in comparison, with previous NDA 2 2019 paper, Algebra covered less part of the paper, it consisted of 25 questions which are minimum number of questions on Algebra as expected. This paper has easy to moderate level questions on Functions, complex numbers, Quadratic equations, Binomial expansions and Logarithms, etc. Commenting on Matrices and Determinants, the weightage was good, 8 questions which are higher than NDA 2 2019 paper. The Coordinate geometry/systems and Straight lines topics covered good number of questions out of 10 questions of Coordinate Geometry-2D. Paper maintained usual trend of 1-1 question each on Circle/Parabola/Ellipse.

Commenting on Analytical Geometry-3D, it has maintained equal number of questions on Line and Plane and 1 question on Sphere. Integral calculus and Differential Calculus followed approximately 22 questions together out of which good number of questions were on Limits, Derivatives, integral calculus and Differential equations. Level of these questions was easy to Moderate. Vector as usual covered approx. 4% of the question paper, i.e. 5 questions out of 120 which were as per the trends, demanding basic knowledge about this topic including all the subtopics. Statistics and Probability consisted of 20 questions altogether. Statistics required the conceptual knowledge about Central measures of tendencies and important formulas. Whereas the level of questions on this topic was average.

So, basically the students who have prepared well for Trigonometry, Algebra, Statistics & Probability, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, 2d geometry were in advantage. In particular, after analyzing this paper, we can conclude that NDA is expecting more knowledge about Trigonometry, Algebra, Calculus, Statistics& Probability. Here is the Overall topic wise analysis of NDA Mathematics 2020.

NDA 1 2020 English GAT Question Paper Analysis

The English section consisted of the total 200 marks with 10 questions for each of the five sections, namely, Spotting Errors, Antonyms, Synonyms, Ordering of Words in a Sentence and Fill in the Blanks. Following are in detail graphical representation of the NDA English Section analysis.

The uniqueness for this years’ NDA 1 & 2 Exams was the number of sections which were only 5 in number. In previous years, the number of sections were more than this year. In NDA 1 & 2 2020 Exams, no questions came from the topics like Idioms & Phrases, Ordering of Sentences, Cloze Test and Comprehension. Another major surprise for NDA 1 & 2 2020 exams was the new naming of the section for ‘Fill in the Blanks’ as ‘Preposition’. While many may get confused, though the question pattern for this section was in the form of the ‘Fill in the Blanks’, yet the questions came in totality from the “Appropriate Prepositions’ chapter of the English Grammar, in which the blanks needed to be filled in with the appropriate prepositions. As opposed to the previous years’ questions in the ‘Fill in the Blanks’ topic, which cumulatively tested a candidate’s knowledge of the tenses, appropriate prepositions, subject verb agreement, phrasal verbs and right usage of vocabulary, this year the ‘Preposition’ part of the English section in NDA aimed to test a candidate’s knowledge of appropriate prepositions and their usage in a sentence.

As per the difficulty level, the question paper for the English section of the GAT in NDA 1 & 2 2020 Exams, was quite easier to attempt, owing to the lesser number of topics. For a candidate with a good and strong knowledge of grammar and clear grammatical concepts, the questions, especially from the ‘Spotting Errors’ topic, were a cakewalk. A very basic to medium level of knowledge for Vocabulary is needed for a candidate to solve questions from ‘Antonyms’ and ‘Synonyms’. Candidates who applied basic and tricky shortcuts for ‘Ordering of Words’ cracked the questions very easily. The part which was quite not-very-easy-to-solve was the section named ‘Preposition’ as the ones who have skipped the chapter of ‘Appropriate Prepositions’ found it almost at a loss to attempt.

spot_img

The English section for NDA 1 & 2 2020 Exams was overall easy for those who studied the English curriculum thoroughly and acquired strong knowledge of both English grammar and vocabulary. But students who skipped either of the vocabulary or the grammar part of the NDA English syllabus and concentrated mainly on the rest of the topics faced a major difficulty in solving the English section of the GAT paper.

Hello SSBCRACK team, It’s been a pleasure writing this mail to you, as while preparing for this exam it was somewhere at the back of my mind that when I get recommended I would write a mail. And here I am writing with a smile on my face. So, on first day we reported at 6:30 am Varanasi Cantt station and Air Force officials were already there to receive us. At around 10 we started with phase 1 process and they announced the results by 3. It was a bliss to hear my chest number from the officer and this is how I made it to phase 2.

On day 2 we had our psychology test. My story writing was good as I could easily write all the 12 stories within the stipulated time but I could do only 19 SRTs out of 60 and I was very worried about it. Overall the psychology test went well except for the SRT part.

Day 3 was the best as we had our group tasks and individual obstacles lined for the day. We started the day with our group discussion followed by the lecturette and my topic for the same was Higher education in India. It went well and I was pretty content with it. Then we had our group task and after that we  were taken to ground for Individual obstacles (the best part). As I am a fitness enthusiast, I was eagerly waiting for this part of SSB. I could do 6 out of 8 tasks within 2 minutes but I tried to do other 2 activities i.e. rope climbing and high jump  in the left 1 minute. After IO we had our final group task,  we were all exhausted by that time. But somehow we managed to complete it comfortably. We call it a day and finished around 6 in the evening.

ssbinterviewbook

Day 4 was my interview and I must say this was the most fun and chill interview I have ever had. All thanks to the interviewer, he made me very comfortable and I didn’t feel nervous even for a second during the whole 1 hr. My interview revolved around my bank job for most of the time. I am currently working with Bank of Baroda as a scale 1 officer, so I was asked a whole lot of questions about bank and economy. The questions were all basic. Then he asked about my education, college life and personal life. After 1 hr he smiled and wished me all the best, that was the wind up of my interview.

spot_img

Day 5 was the conference day and as usual they called each and every candidate one by one. My meeting with them  was only for a minute and they just asked me – You already have a job so why do you want to join IAF ? I simply answered it with smile. They wished me all the best and I left the conference room after that. My chest number was 40. SSB Center – 4 AFSB VARANASI

Now coming to the leaning process, SSBCRACK gave me very fruitful study material and I prepared thoroughly from their content. A big thanks to you guys for my side for helping out students like me. Just keep up with the good work we love you all whole heatedly for your efforts.

oir test and ppdt

This SSB was one of the  best experiences of my life as this was my first and last attempt. I was happy, excited, nervous and eager all at the same time. But I managed to control  all these feelings and performed my best without caring  about the results. I literally enjoyed each and every task I did there and most importantly I did all of it with a big smile on my face.

All About Command Task In GTO Task

1
command-task-gto

Introduction: Whenever we talk about the SSB interview procedure, GTO tasks always bring a smile on everyone’s face. During the whole day five process the GTO tasks are conducted on the third and fourth day where candidates get a chance to perform in a team. There are a total of nine tasks scheduled under it, and one of them is the command task.

Command Task: As the name is self-explanatory, “command task” in this, a candidate is made commander, and he/she has to command his subordinates to pursue a certain task. Command Task is conducted individually for each candidate. The GTO calls chest number randomly one by one from the group and starts with some general questions. Questions will be related to your life itself, so be careful while answering. Try to give the same answers to a particular question that you have said in the main Interview and do not go against your PIQ.

ssbinterviewbook

Though as in this task you need to command someone, GTO allows you to select your subordinates among your whole group. Most of the time candidates are allowed to choose two subordinates, but it may vary with every SSB. Before calling anyone keep in mind that why you are selecting him as the GTO might ask it.

spot_img

The difficulty for the individual fully depends upon his/her performance in the previous tasks. If someone has shown good skills in the previous Tasks, then the chances are high that he will get a good Command Task and the same applies for vice versa. Now whenever somebody goes for the Command Task, He is surely appointed as one of these two either Commander or Subordinate. Both the roles are different, and candidates are advised to react and work differently in both. Below is the short description of both the roles and what these roles are expected to do in the Command Task:

oir test and ppdt

Commander

  • When you are a commander, it’s your full responsibility to get the job done with the help of your subordinate.
  • Brief the tasks properly to the subordinates before starting it as it generates clarity in the plan and among the team.
  • Be as clear as you can with your words while commanding as it will help you to complete the task on time with more precision. If the communication problem occurs then the subordinates will not be able to follow up properly.
  • Though you are made commander here you need more to be a leader who also helps his subordinate instead of just ordering while sending apart.
  • Most of the time, try to solve the task by yourself, but if you are fully stuck somewhere, then it is advisable to ask for help from the subordinates.
  • GTO will continuously put pressure on you while commanding either in the name of time or by asking for different methods to solve the task, but the candidates need to be calm throughout the task.
  • Be a good visionary and think of different methods to solve the task. For this, you can also take help from previous tasks and use them here.

Subordinate

  • Be a good listener. Listen carefully to what is said by the commander and execute the same properly.
  • Do not try to be over-smart. Do not work more than you were told to do as GTO observes everything and this may give a wrong impression about you.

The task is designed to assess the personality of the candidates who are shy in front of the group or until now has not said much in the group. It also helps the GTO to look into someone’s personality who has been in the doubt case. More or less, it is great to perform Command Tasks.

I feel loved to share my journey from joining the Navy at an very young age of 18 and now getting commissioned in it.It definitely help to all but specially the one who are already in the services. As it all started when the merit list of Navy come out and seeing my name in that i was nothing to do but to wipe out the tears from my mom’s eyes. As I was the first one in my whole family to open an account of going into the defence forces and now probably the first one to get commisioned. This journey would help many of you to encourage and realise their potential and keep growing like i never stopped learning throughout my journey. It was really tough to maintain the studies while having all the curriculum like PT, Parade, Swimming, Duties and all. But the aim in mind had always helped me to work harder. After completing 1 yrs of service I got chance to appear before the commission worthy exam in Navy. After passing the Written and Preliminary selection board I got the call letter to appear before SSB on 22nd of July. I reported on the date at Bhopal. As I was fresher everything was new to me i enjoyed each n every task starting from the OIR to the Conference in every task I Showed them the real me. And to all the aspirants I would say.. That SSB is not a competition so don’t compete. It’s an personality test which is different for everyone. Be Calm, Confident and most importantly real you…. I have  purchased the SSBCrack booklet for OIR and practiced from it. I was keep following the SSBCrack since long time for getting updated as well as it was giving me the kick to join the defence the stories here of each and everyone had inspired me and at that time I had also decided someday I would be also writing my journey to inspire all the defence aspirants…. Thanks to all who helped me to raised

After clearing the PSB and written I was about to get my ssb call letter in April but due to the lockdown it was extended for indefinite period of time. I proceeded for leave in March to my home in Gautam Buddha Nagar and there I started preparing for my ssb as I was fresher I was new about all the procedures. First I have started taking help from you tube knowing the whole 5 days procedure in details. Subrisingly my leave was extended till 30th july and I got tremonduos time for my preparation. Firstly I started making notes of my current affairs and worked on my communication skills by recording my own answer in mobile and later listen it and find the modifications.

Secondly I have make fixed routine for every task various times but as usual failed to work on that. Then slowly slowly I started writing TAT pictures I used to write the stories of around 150 words and when later read it found it baseless. So later I realised the meaning of Apperception and started including my past experiences which I have came through in civil as well in services. Now the things was easy for me to relate. I was very much worried about my WAT tests because I used to skip a lot of words during practice. But on a whole my elder brother who was also preparing for his CDS SSB had helped me a lot in taking the mock interview listening to the lecturette topics and practice the psych test on a whole together and most importantly the practice of OIR .

When I reported to my duty station after a week I was been informed that my ssb is on 22 nd of July and I have completed all the formalities and left for bhopal on 20th reached bhopal on 21st and stayed in hotel for a day with my other coursemates and seniors. On 22nd in the early morning at 0530 hrs had reported at ssb gate. We were 80 in numbers. Provided the chest no. We all were given packed breakfast and then taken to a room and given the OIR it was really tough the practiced which I have done at home by ssbcrack OIR booklet had saved me to do well. For each we were given 19 minutes for 45-45 questions both verbal and non verbal I had attempted all as there was no negative marking. After a break of 5 mins we all were shown a picture for ppdt the scene was of a hospital where  doctors were treating patients so I made my story of a doctor who treats the patients and motivates them not to panick with this covid as it can easily be fought with doing normal yoga keep hygiene and maintain physical distancing. He also along with his other doctors held an health camp in village areas and spread awareness how to fight this pandemic and also contributed some amount of money and distributed some masks and sanitisers to people who can’t afford that. After that we were dived in a group of 8. I narrated my story with full confidence maintaining the  eye contact with others colleagues. And gently took part in GD 2-3 times and I was nominated for reciting the group story but the conclusion of our discussion itself went to a common story so accessor told us ok understood. And you all may leave.

Then time was around 12 we all headed for the lunch and after an hour the results for stage 1 was announced 30 candidates got screened in and I was one of them. I was given the fresh chest no. 28 . And asked to take my luggage and stand seperately. Then we all thirty were taken in a room and given 3 PIQ forms  to fill up and then alloted the dormatories. In each there were 4 candidates due to covid 19 many things were changed in the ssb.

On day 2 we were called on 0900 hrs for psychological test and one after other the ideas and theme were easily flowing through my mind. I had written all the 12 stories in given time. Now the test for which I was very much worried was there WAT but the more surprising thing happened I not even skipped a single word and completed the 60 WAT which was really unbelievable for me all the sentences which I have written was very much normal and my first idea. Then I completed 53 SRT’S  and then final test was Self Description in that I had skipped the last opinion about self.
I was very much happy and confident about my psychological testtest. Now I was all ready for my interview for which I was very much excited.

oir test and ppdt

My interview was scheduled on day 3 at 1500 hrs I have reached 15 mind prior and waited in waiting hall wearing that face mask and face shield I was sweating alot as it was my first time I was a bit nervous too I drank half of my bottle during waiting. When being called I get in and told to sit down keeping all my materials down lower my face mask and my interview begun it had gone around 25-30 minutes in which not a single question from GK or current affairs was been asked for which I was well prepared. I was being grilled on all my life experiences wat all works I had done in my duty, trainings and all every thing was from PIQ and some questions related to my professional knowledge in service subjects. I was very much happy with my interview before leaving the room the I don’t know why the interviewer asked me Gaurav is it ur first attempt… I replied yes sir… He told… Hope this would ur last one. I was been boosted up by his words came in barrack and was smiling remembering his words again and again.

The  Day 4 was decided for the GTO all the Task was to be completed in a single day. So starting from GD1 we were given the topic of Foreign Direct Investment and I had spoken well listening others and putting my points gently moved on to GD2 on the topic related to service. After that GPE and I was nominated by the group to give the final solution which I gave confidently in that GTO mam had put some modifications but told ok u can sit.

After that PGT and HGT was conducted back to back and I had given some ideas executed some and listened to some others and helped to complete all tasks on time. After that lecturette was done I was given on topic Tourism potential of India giving various way forward to boost the tourism in India I ended up. Then we were given a shirt break of 15 mins after that GOR was done in that we were forbidden to do some tasks due to much physical contact and completed the task and won it. GTO was very happy with the group in spite we have broken some rules. Then it was Individual Obstacles I had completed only 10 in time and then command task I was given a bit typical one rather than others because I was been called by 4 candidates as a subordinates so It was easy for me to differentiate. I had done my task well been a little bit of difficulties was raised but I managed to do that after that the final group task was given which we all had completed in a less than 5 minutes. At the end a small briefing of GTO  about the next day and we all returned in barracks done lunch took a nap and at evening we were being briefed by CHM saab about the next day schedule. As we all were the service candidates so our conference was to be held in Uniforms so we all started polishing our boots washing the peak caps ironic g the dress and in the morning 0900 hrs we all were told to wait in a Hall.

An Interviewing officer came for the closing session and told us wat is being expected from the ssb and after that the conference started at around 0930 hrs  My chest no. Was 28 so I had to wait for a long my no. Came at 1240 hrs entering the Hall I took my seat and board president asked some general questions like how was my journey, by which train I was coming from, how is the accommodation one question he asked me. Gaurav if you have to select 2 candidates from this group of 30 whom you will select. I replied  Sir, Other than me?  He told.. Choice is yours… Then I told sir I would recommend chest no. 25 and me. Then he told okay so now the vacancy is only 1 now whom you will drop. I replied sir I will drop chest no. 25 . Then he asked why how you r better than him then I simply replied sir he was good at most of the things but he need to brush his convincing power in which he lacks once he deals with that he would get recommended. He told okay Gaurav it was nice interaction hope fir your best results. Then I came out packed all the luggage done lunch changed into casuals and waiting for the results it took around 3 hours for the result to come everyone was very much excited when finally Sir came with the file and told out of 30 the 3 had made it this time I was very much excited crossed my figure. The first cheat no. Was 16 and second was mine 28 I jumped from my chair recited my name and my fathers name and told to stand separate after taking the luggage. We all three congratulated each other for the success out of them 2 we’re repeaters and I was fresher I was very much excited to wear that chest no. Which plus ➕ sign. Later on we were given the chest no’s.
So this was my journey and at last I would say to all the aspirants to be bold be confident and be yourself no one can stop you from getting recommended All the very best to all of you for your future SSB’s…

I will not share my SSB experience rather I will share what happened after I got recommended. It is more than a success story. 18th of March, 2019. I got recommended from Selection Center South (Bangalore) 12SSB for Indian Navy for SSC UES (JUN 2019) course and I still remember the happiness and confidence I felt for the whole day, It felt like I was in the clouds and looking forward to a bright future.

On 19th, the medicals started and everything was marked ‘healthy or fit’ but on the last day of medicals, I got unfit for eye lesion, that I have since birth. Before SSB I got myself checked with medical officers regarding this and I was confident of getting FIT for the same, but I instead got unfit and they gave me 42 days to report again in Base Hospital Delhi. I went to many doctors and everyone I know from Defence forces and everyone said “ Don’t worry! It is just a birthmark”.

After first medicals everyone in my village knew that I was recommended, due to police verification, Gazetted officer’s verification and also village pradhan came home to congratulate my parents.

Again in Delhi, I got the rejection for same and they did many tests one by one and I still remember the wordings from AMC Medical Officer that “Unfit ka reason to dena hi pdega”.

ssbinterviewbook

Yes, I applied for Review medical boards as well and got unfit for the same. Just because of SSB I skipped my joining in one of the reputed firm because I believed that “Never sail in two boats together” and every one suggested me to do the same.

Every plan, dreams are shattered and I can’t describe how my family, friends, my mentor and every one felt. It was like a big shock for everyone.

oir test and ppdt

I was like frustrated by everything because I did not have any second plan, after a month I recollected myself and made myself ready for a new journey. I completely focused on my training in electronics and my mentor always helped me throughout the journey.

On 24th April 2020 After a long recession in electronics, I joined an organization as a Physical Design Engineer. It took much time to get here but still I never gave up.

I just want to say, that Friends Never give up and keep on working. Life will teach you many lessons and you will get stronger day by day. Medical rejection is never a failure, you did you best and you will get the best.

Hello people, I am Anurag Sinha. A recommended candidate from SSB ALLAHABAD for NDA-137th (Army) course. It all starts with me and my day watching the republic day parade when I was roughly 7-8 years of age, where my father constantly used to tell me the stories of the great freedom fighters and martyrs which instilled a soldier spirit in me!

Cut to 2016! It was 3rd of August when I boarded my train for my SSB journey. It was my FIRST attempt so I was pretty nervous. I was scared whether I’ll be sent back the very first day as the SSB ALLAHABAD is assumed to be the most strict SSB center of all! And me belonging from the non-defense background had no idea about it whatsoever.

But to my relief everything went very smoothly. And we were divided into groups. And the next 4 days interview experience was like a roller coster ride for me. Because of the family that I made there, I was rather enjoying the selection process rather then being terrified of it. The most memorable challenge for us was the group snake race, as I clearly remember after the obstacle course when we all returned to our doms we couldn’t even speak a word clearly as we all had sore throat due to such aggressive chanting of war cries!

And the D-Day finally came that was about to be the most important event of my life. From being a normal citizen to being a fauji, the step to my PRATHAM PAG to the fauji life was right there infront of me. The conference went on pretty well, and we all were waiting in the common area for the  results. An officer came in and briefed us and also told us not to be disheartened if any of us couldn’t make it!

oir test and ppdt

And then I heard the chest call by the JCO sahab “CHEST NO 2”, and I was in tears immediately! I along with my fellow recommended cadets were shouting and crying with joy. We were a group of 13 people, which was supposedly the highest number of recommends from a SSB from an absentee batch that to from Allahabad.
