Indian army published the notification of TGC-117th [Technical Graduate Course-117], which is going to commence in July 2013, in IMA, Dheradun. TGC-117 is a technical entry for engineering graduates. There has be many changes in the vacancies for technical entries. This time also, army is keeping cut off percentage for ssc-tech and TGC-117, also many other branches are not eligible for TGC-117.

How to Apply:
- Candidates applying Online, after submission of application take two copies of the application printout and the Roll No. generated by the system.
- One copy should be mailed duly signed with a self attested photograph and attested copies of 10th class, 12th class certificates and Degree/ Provisional Degree of BE/ B.Tech or mark sheets of first six semesters of BE/ B.Tech to Additional Directorate General of Recruiting (Rtg-6), TGC Section, West Block-3, R.K Puram, New Delhi-110066 and super scribe the envelope with “Online Application TGC-117 and the Roll No…………”. Candidate should appear for the interview with the second copy of the printout along with original certificates.
- The last date for receipt of such print outs is 31th Dec, 2012. Candidates should submit online application after 31th Dec 2012.
- Candidates applying offline should super scribe the envelope with MILITARY FARMS and “Army educational Core” 117th TGC (Army Educational Corps)and sent to Additional Directorate General of Recruiting (Rtg-6), TGC Section, West Block-3, R.K Puram, New Delhi-110066.
- Candidates applying for Military Farms division should sent the application to Integrated Head Quarters of Ministry of Defence (Army), QMG’s Branch Directorate of Military Farms (MF-1), West Block-III, RK Puram, New Delhi-110066 . The last date for receipt of such print outs is 20th Nov, 2012.

Please look into the account of the genuine candidates who applied for the TGC-117 entry with all zeal and Josh to join Indian Army, but could not appear before SSB just because of the cut-off of 63% till 6th semester.
Sir, Indian Defense Forces are the only organisations which recruit free and fairly without any partiality.
( Every university has different judging and marking criteria, so a common entrance test like AFCAT may be introduced for technical entries).
Please remove the cut-off and allow all the candidates of appear before SSB.
Please take this matter on priority sir. Its a humble request of many many genuine candidates desirous of joining Indian Army.

B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics equal to B.Tech. in Electrical, says Court
STAFF REPORTER
Overruling an expert opinion by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) that a B.Tech. degree in Electrical and Electronics is not equal to B.Tech. in Electrical, the Delhi High Court has held that the two degrees are equal and directed the Army to recruit a group of female graduates holding degrees in the former course.
The Army had refused appointment to these female applicants arguing that they did not qualify as they were not graduates in Electrical Engineering as required by it.
Similarly, the Army had denied appointment to some other applicants, who had applied for jobs following publication of advertisements for recruitments, saying that their degrees in Information Technology and Information and Control were not equivalent to degrees in Computer Science and Electronics and Instrumentation respectively.
However, the claims of equivalence by these students were certified by a two-member committee of expert of AICTE set up on an order by the Court.
The Court also noted that AICTE had taken a ridiculous and discriminatory stand that equivalence between a B.Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics to B.Tech. in Electrical holds for male students. It said that AICTE had approached the issue in a mechanical way, not in an analytical manner.
The Court also expressed its displeasure over the attitude of an officer of the Association of Indian Universities, which was asked to give its opinion as to whether a degree in Information Technology was equivalent to a degree in Computer Science.
The Association through an officer certified the equivalence of the two degrees but on issuing the certificate to one of the applicants he said that he had handed it to the applicant simply incorporating the opinion of the director of a group of professional colleges, the Court noted.
Setting aside the objections of the Army, a Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice Pradeep Nandrajog and Justice Manmohan Singh said: “Thus, the facts of the instant case attract the law declared by the Supreme Court ……justifying the arm of this Court to be extended to declare that the writ petitioners were eligible; having the requisite educational qualifications for the posts advertised and accordingly we issue a mandamus to the respondents to proceed ahead with the selection process pertaining to the writ petitioners keeping in view their merit position in the select list against the posts which they had applied for.”
The Bench also directed that a copy of this decision be sent to the Secretary, Union Ministry of Human Resources Development, with a direction that the Union Government would constitute a committee of experts in the field of technical education which would gather the course curriculum of all the technical degrees recognised by the University Grants Commission and would accord equivalence which would be displayed on the website of the Commission, AICTE and the Ministry of Human Resources Development.

No its not fixed…it depends on the no. of candidates applying for tgc-117…n acc to the no. of candidates army will fix cut-off…it could be higher or lower than 63%..

i was screened out at allahabad 15th december for ssc tech40..
our jco said that candidates form IT are eligible those who applied under computer science as it was declared by court to consider IT students in computer science stream.so they can attend ssb on 1 jan which is absentees batch.. so might be same thing could happen to us.. since we are form EEE dept and we might be considerd under electrical stream.

i filled my TGC 117 form on google chrome since y internet explorer was crashing regularly….would my application be rejected becoz it was 2 b filled in explorer….though a roll number was generated….and application was filled sucessfully!!

its for ssc (t) bro. they will release the cutoff after the last date of form submission after analyzing the quantity.. it may also turn out to be 63%(most chances) for TGC-117 but till then, no presumptions. fingers crossed.

I don’t think we can do anything here or I doubt anything gets change in TGC-117 vacancies. May be there are very less vacancies in tech entries. Better option is to go with other entries as well.

Army stated in the advertisement, only mentioned branch candidates are eligible, no name differences will be considered.
They don’t care whether both branches are same or not, however you can apply under something else and get the call letter also, but they may reject you at the time of SSB.
So, rest depends on you, for more clarification, knock the official door.

Its my humble request to all defence aspirants of IT & EEE branch to write an application to army HQ about the eligibilty of these two branch.We all very well know that there is no difference between CS & IT Branch and also there is not even single difference between EEE & EE as vacancies is out for both electrical and electronics branch then why EEE branch is not eligible.Advertisement is tentative and can be changed as there is some time to forward our application in huge manner so dat army HQ can take some immediate steps .Atleast we can try and hope for the best….may be atleast they will ponder so many times and next times there will be not as such problems……plz plz do rather than simply discussing….

In this manner its difficult to join Army in technical branch for Information Technology Graduates………….this is continously 4th time ab to over age bhi ho jaayenge is hisaab se.
THEY DONT GIVE THE REASON WHY IT ENGINEERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE .IF CS GRADUATES ARE ELIGIBLE THAN WHATS THE PROBLEM WITH IT BRANCH FRIENDS ITS TIME TO FILE A RTI AGAINST ARMY OR COURT CASE SO AT LEAST WE WOULD KNOW THE REASON .MSC VALE BHI HUM SE ACCHE HAI KYA MAIL KARO INKO KHUBA NAHI TO AB KABHI ENTRY NAHI NIKLEGI ..

ssc 40 tech same percentage criteria for this u must have 63% till 6th sem thats y they want 1st to 6th sem dmc not last year

but they did not give percentage criteria even after the online link is open.So everyone should send application .May be they did not keep % criteria for TGC 117.AS they did not mentioned. Jai hind.
