Hello everyone, this is Shubham Sonker .As you guys are reading this article, you already have an upper hand and have competed with 50% of the candidates who applied for this post, Yes keep your Aspirations high and be self-motivated ,it will help you a way long in your ssb procedure, now hereโ€™s how youโ€™d beaten 50% candidates. Gentlemen ICG has improved selection system over conventional selection procedure, Most of the loop Holes are refined here. Every Stage is elimination stage to check your dedication towards armed forces. So if you observe gentlemen ICG always opens its Online application form filling with a short notice of advertisement and for a short period, also the dates of downloading call letter is known for 10-15 days but after 5-8 days Error will be shown on the website. This is to check the dedication and consistency, along with active mildness and how responsible is the candidate towards his ambitions and to defense as such. We were informed this by a officer at ICG.

So Iโ€™ll be discussing about basic such things to follow along with Tips to perform in that Stage and how did I perform there, which will brief you with an idea. And when general procedures are concerned SSBcrack and google has enough information on it just type โ€œ psb or Fsb procedure at fsbโ€.And if you need more data you can mail me on my maid id mentioned at the last of this article.

So here I start with PSB:-

1-This is a day long procedure where two stages are done consecutively at the same day(some articles mention 2 days, but now it is for 1day).

2-stages consist of Intelligence Test followed by results and elimination of almost 50-60% candidates and other who qualify have to appear for ppdt which is again a elimination stage, however here the rejection percentage in quite less, if you perform average.

A-)Intelligence test.

Tipsโ€“

1-)5-7 days before psb are enough to practice for intelligence test, Use R.S Agarwal reasoning ar any material you find good.

2-)Go through SSB crack website and read 2-3 articles about psb procedure as here 7 sections of different time intervals are there and you need to prepare accordingly with time constraints.

3-)The time limits are not known and they change questions depending on toughness quotient (5,10,15 sec)so prepare yourself for 5-7 sec as most of questions will be for that time limit.

4-)The OMR has square boxes which takes time to fill, use a thick needle pen 0.7mm and above.

5-)After every section there is a change in slide and examples are shown which takes 5-10 secs where you can complete shading squares, Although donโ€™t be fully dependent on that time.

6-)Try to take seat in first 3 rows, for clarity.

7-)No negative marking attempt all questions.

8-)If you score 50% and above your chances are of being selected and for that you need to attempt 90-95% of paper with good accuracy to be on safe side.

9-)Test is projector based.

My Experience

1-Attempted 79-80 questions in all

2-After 20-30 questions the questions are easier. The marks lost can be regained hereon, I did same.

3-Attention is to be paid on questions having 3-5 options and then followed by such options.

a-b

b-d

c-a

d-c

e-a

now in circling focus on circling(a,b,c,d or e)which is right rather than(b,d,a,c or a)

Now results will be announced and youโ€™ll be given chest noโ€™s in according to your score in intelligence test.

B-a)PPDT

1-Pictures displayed here are clear than ssb ones.

2-4 mins given to write, and instructions are same as ssb.

3-Focus on quality and not quantity.

My experienceโ€“

1-Story had to be given a theme, my was rubbish ,however I wrote story really well.

2-My story didnโ€™t complete but the part I wrote was of quality sufficient enough to judge olqโ€™s.

B-b)PPDT(GD followed by story writing)

1-After story writing break is of 15-20 mins.Try to remember the story and if left incomplete, here you have sufficient time to complete and reside it in GD.

2-Avoid wasting time in Chit-chats, it wonโ€™t help you as Group leader is not made on interaction but the one who performs well in GD.

3-While residing your story maintain eye contact with everyone, correct body postures, and self confidence with a loud and clear voice.

4-Meanwhile others speak listen them carefully and also in meantime revise the thoughts you made outside to speak in GD.Yes, predetermined thoughts which are unique and story dependent, do help.

5-Speak at 1-3 noโ€™s at GD.And speak for at least 2-3 times more at intervals and donโ€™t repeat points.

6-At last when psychologist says about last 2 mins.Just complete the discussion taking place in GD and reside them with a conclusion which forces your team to appoint you as their Group leader.

7-Recide story to psychologist, pay attention this will not be your story ,its group story. Even if your story was not good, and different from group, if you recide groups story which relevant points included from yours too. You have 100% chances of being screened in still.Recommended By Indian Coast Guard

My experienceโ€“

1-After listening everyoneโ€™s story I felt little low. But participated in discussion with predetermined points of mine which can be seen in picture and were correct.

2-Entered gd in 2nd number.

3-Spoke 3-4 times as gd was of whole 15 mins.at last 2 mins I summed up with the conclusion to my group and was appointed as a group leader.

4-I resided a group story in front of boards president. Be prepared for this.

3-)Remember the answers as they will be asked again in PI.

After 1st day some candidates maybe called for interview.

And rest for next stages on next day.

Prepare yourself now onwards as youโ€™ll not know which test is next and youโ€™ll be informed about it just hours or even minutes before.

Day 2

  • It took place of everyone for approx 45-50 mins.
  • Questions from PIQ and SDT will be asked so remember your answers.
  • It goes with a pattern ,a stage will come where youll be put under tremendous pressure and will loose each ray of hope. Just at that point be calm and answer smartly and genuinely.
  • Be truthful in whole interview.
  • Show your humor sometimes.
  • Drink 2 glass of water before entering the room.
  • Maintain eye contact with interviewer even if you donโ€™t know answer or are under pressure.

My experience

  • Tell us about your city, your travel till here, your stay, your family, your educations, your achievements, your goal, etc etc.

Remember all the questions asked by him ans answer calmly for 15-18 mins.

Pressure building situation-

  • He asked me if I had a option to join Indian army and ICG what would I choose and why?
  • If my gf was pregnant and my parents were against marriage what would I do.

End of interview

  • Tell about your friends, what you like in them and what they dislike in you, what you watch on tv,your facebook friends, how many you know and how many you donโ€™t know, dating through social networks ever, what you do on internet, hobbies, things in yourself you want to improve.

Day 4 (mine was off)

Day 5(GTO)

GD

  • Prepare yourself with topics of Lecturatte a day before
  • In GD speak quality and as the topics will be difficult, try to speak more sensibly, If you know nothing about topic listen and combine points and produce it effectively with a new taste, that is what I did.
  • At last try to summarize the GD after 15 mins.By giving solutions or results or recommendations.
  • 2 GDโ€™s back to back show your leadership, intiating, communication skills, and team spirit effectively

Group Planning Exercise

  • Time will be sufficient
  • Practice 1-2 gpe from before.
  • Search for a pattern to write in gpe and follow it. It saves time and sorts your thoughts.
  • In GD follow ppdt GD instructions I gave in previous article and at last 2 minutes when gto bells a ring summarize your Group problems to group.
  • A group leader will be chosen, and hell be given a laser and he has to give solutions of problem. I was the group leader in my group and gave the exact solution at once, in other groups it took 3-4 chances.
  • Be precise in observing and go in details to ensure your selection.

Lecturette

  • 4 topics on each card ,chose one and recide for 3 minutes.
  • Follow a pattern, introduction-body(reasons,solutions,types,names etc)-conclusion.
  • First 30 secs intro,2 mins body and last 30 secs conclusion.2mins body includes at least 5 points for which you speak 15-20 seconds.IN your 3 mins you have to search for these 5 points.
  • My topic was UNO.
  • Marking of topics is in order from top to bottom,i.e,top toughest and more scoring, bottom easiest and less scoring.

Conference

  • Donโ€™t be nervous answer questions smartly and calmly and just look in eyes of person who asked you question.
  • Questions for me were:- how was your stay? what did you learn from here? what were you thinking before entering the room?what relationships do you and your elder brother share, what do you both do in your free time? any suggestions.

All the best gentlemen for your future, practice hard and perform your best.

Ssb is also a matter of luck,i.e 70% hardwork and 30% luck, keep trying, you never know when your luck strikes upon.
