GTO days are the spine wrecking days due to mental as well as physical works. These days have various tasks. The Progressive Group Task is one of them that is meant for analysis the coordination and how a person works in pressure of its group. Diverse responses and ideas are surfaced while attempting this task. And many times candidates find this task as the step of disqualification from SSB as it can’t be practiced earlier. This task is a weak point of most of the repeaters. So we are here with some tricks and tricks to make it easy to handle.

- An alternate can be a better option – Once you get stuck on any place and not finding any way out, then use the alternate way to save time and getting the group accelerated. Firstly concentrate on the obstruction of the way. But still nobody gets the idea, then try the next route to approach the finish line. This ultimately means that never stop efforts to reach the finish line.
- Help, if not getting the idea – If a candidate is not getting any idea, then he must stay involved in preparing the arrangement or executing the idea, or managing the transport of man and material. Your engagement in working matters a lot and shows your cooperation and group management. But depending only on helping is not a good idea. The Candidate must give ideas also along with helping.
- Toughest/complex structures give most ideas – Always remember this truth that the most complex structure has maximum number of solutions. Any structure that appears to be complex or new means you need to widen up your mind to get any idea and when you get any idea, many other ideas stuck your mind
- Moral support makes point – One should always keep on motivating the group morally. This shows your motivation, consistency and supportive nature.
- Aggression and anger can spoil the game – It happens many times that candidates find their ideas being neglected by the group. In that case, don’t leave patience or show aggression. This will either lead to any chaos or division of the group and simultaneously reduces your chances of selection.
- Keep the helping material in mind – The helping material provided to you must always be kept in mind. While progressing in the task, many time structures confuse the mind. In that case, observing the structure and adjusting the helping material gives new ideas.
- Transport the burden rather than holding it – Every PGT has a burden or sometimes called as luggage. This has to be taken along with the group. Candidates must actively try hard to grab the ideas rather than holding and securing the burden. It doesn’t mean that it should be neglected. While moving ahead, the candidate must also handle it like a part of the group.
- Accept your mistake – It is generally that candidates sometimes make mistakes while attempting the tasks. Nobody is perfect or have practiced these tasks. So it is generally that candidates sometimes make mistakes. Here the point is to accept it and do the penalty. It shows your rule bounded nature as well as self-discipline.
