114741 Messages To Indian Army Soldiers
LG Electronics India Pvt Ltd have dedicated a Guinness World Records title attempt to the Indian Army, in a salute to their soldiers’ hard work and sacrifices.

The company set up ‘Wish Boards’ in their many retail stores around the country and invited members of public to write messages to soldiers on post-it notes.

These were then collected and put together to create the world’s Longest line of sticky notes.Messages to soldiers tcm25 465338

An unprecedented 114,741 sticky notes were counted at Greater Noida, India, on 10 March 2017.
There were an estimated 150,000 sticky notes collected, but due to bad weather the attempt had to be moved to an indoor venue that was not big enough to hold the vast number of messages.
The length of the line was an incredible 8.338 km (5.18 miles) – long enough to cover over 75 American football fields.GWR PR
A team of six chartered accountants assisted Guinness World Records adjudicator Swapnil Dangarikar in counting and verifying the enormous record.
The record attempt took place as part of LG India’s #KarSalaam campaign, organised to celebrate Republic Day – the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950.
Mr. Kim Ki Wan, Managing Director, LG Electronics India was thrilled with the result: “A million thanks to the people of India for showing their gratitude towards the Indian soldiers. The initiative has been a massive success that can be validated by the overwhelming response that we have received from the people in the form of messages for the soldiers. It is also a very proud moment for us at LG and immensely gratifying to break the Guinness World Records title by getting 114,741 wishes.”Longest line of sticky notes tcm25 465336
Guinness World Records adjudicator Swapnil Dangarikar said: “We are happy to announce the entry of LG Electronics India Ltd. as a record beaker for ‘Longest Line of Sticky Notes’ messages from the Indian citizens. It is an honour for us to be a medium through which we can partner in wishing the Armed Forces for their immense contribution in ensuring the safety of the citizens. This initiative of LG Electronics India is unique and we hope that they take up many similar initiatives in the near future.”

LG India’s record is almost five times larger than the previous record of 24,675 sticky notes, achieved by Prudential Financial at the Prudential Tower in Newark, New Jersey, USA, on 23 November 2015.
