Army Aviation Establishes First Apache Squadron to Enhance Defence Capability

In a significant stride towards bolstering India’s defence capabilities, the first Apache Squadron of Army Aviation was raised under the Thar Raptors formation of the Southern Command in the Western Sector. The historic event took place in the esteemed presence of Lieutenant General AK Suri, Director General of Army Aviation.

The establishment of the Apache Squadron marks a pivotal moment in the modernization and expansion efforts of the Indian Army, aimed at enhancing operational reach and aerial strike capability in the region.

The induction of Apache helicopters, renowned for their versatility and firepower, is expected to augment the army’s combat capabilities and provide a formidable edge in both conventional and asymmetric warfare scenarios.
