The inauguration of the CDE program marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to promote excellence in dental education and practice within the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS).
Lt Gen Vineet Sharma, in his inaugural address, emphasized the importance of continuous learning and professional development in the field of dentistry, particularly in orthodontics, where advancements in technology and techniques are rapidly evolving.
The theme of “Interdisciplinary Orthodontics for Treatment Needs-2024” reflects the interdisciplinary nature of modern orthodontic practice, which often requires collaboration with other dental specialties and healthcare professionals to achieve optimal treatment outcomes.
The CDE program aims to equip orthodontists with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively address the diverse treatment needs of patients, ranging from routine orthodontic cases to complex interdisciplinary cases requiring coordinated care.
Dr. Sanjay Labh, in his keynote address, highlighted the importance of adopting a holistic approach to orthodontic treatment, considering not only the aesthetic and functional aspects but also the overall oral health and well-being of the patient.
He emphasized the role of interdisciplinary collaboration in achieving comprehensive treatment outcomes and improving patient satisfaction.
The CDE program featured a series of lectures and interactive sessions by renowned academicians and clinicians, covering a wide range of topics related to orthodontic diagnosis, treatment planning, and management.
These sessions provided participants with valuable insights into the latest advancements in orthodontic practice, including the use of digital technology, customized treatment modalities, and evidence-based approaches to patient care.
The hybrid format of the CDE program allowed orthodontists from across the country to participate and engage with the content remotely, leveraging technology to overcome geographical barriers and facilitate knowledge sharing and networking opportunities.
This inclusive approach reflects the AFMS’s commitment to promoting continuing education and professional development among its dental practitioners.
As the CDE program progresses, participants can look forward to gaining new perspectives, refining their clinical skills, and enhancing their ability to deliver high-quality orthodontic care to the men and women in uniform and their families.
By investing in the education and training of its dental professionals, the AFMS reaffirms its commitment to providing world-class healthcare services to its beneficiaries and upholding the highest standards of dental excellence within the Armed Forces community.
