In a significant move towards bolstering joint operational capabilities, Lt. Gen. Dhiraj Seth, Army Commander of the South Western Command, visited Air Force Station Suratgarh on 20 May 2024. During his visit, Lt. Gen. Seth was briefed on the operational readiness and combat posture of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in this strategically vital sector.

The visit underscored the commitment of both the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force to strengthen their collaborative efforts, ensuring enhanced security and operational effectiveness in the region. Lt. Gen. Seth’s engagement with the Air Warriors at Suratgarh was a testament to the importance of inter-service cooperation in addressing modern security challenges.

Upon arrival at Air Force Station Suratgarh, Lt. Gen. Seth was received by senior IAF officials who provided a comprehensive briefing on the current operational status, readiness levels, and the various strategic initiatives undertaken by the Air Force in the region.

In his address, Lt. Gen. Seth underscored the critical importance of fortifying joint operational capabilities between the Army and the Air Force.

Lt. Gen. Seth expressed his appreciation for the Air Warriors, acknowledging their steadfast operational proficiency, battle readiness, and unwavering commitment to national security. “The dedication and professionalism displayed by the Air Warriors here at Suratgarh are exemplary. Your efforts in maintaining high levels of readiness and your commitment to defending our nation are commendable,” he remarked.

The visit also included a tour of the various operational units and facilities at the station. Lt. Gen. Seth interacted with the personnel, gaining insights into their daily operations and the challenges they face.
