A central theme of the discussions was the pivotal role played by the Assam Rifles in Mizoram. As the oldest paramilitary force in India, the Assam Rifles have been instrumental in maintaining law and order, conducting counter-insurgency operations, and providing humanitarian assistance.

Lt. Gen. Tiwari emphasized their contribution to not only security operations but also their engagement with local communities, fostering goodwill and trust among the populace.

The Hon’ble Governor and Chief Minister expressed their deep appreciation for the Assam Rifles’ efforts in ensuring peace and security.

They commended the force for its proactive outreach programs, which have significantly contributed to the socio-economic development of the state. “The Assam Rifles have been a cornerstone of our security framework. Their dedication to duty and their efforts to connect with the local population have been exemplary,” said Governor Kambhampati.

Beyond their primary security responsibilities, the Assam Rifles have also been involved in various community development initiatives.

These include healthcare camps, educational programs, and infrastructure development projects, which have had a positive impact on the lives of the local people. Lt. Gen. Tiwari highlighted these efforts, noting that such initiatives are crucial for building lasting peace and fostering development in the region.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma echoed these sentiments, stating, “The Assam Rifles have gone above and beyond in their service to Mizoram. Their community engagement programs have greatly benefited our people, and we are grateful for their continued support.”

As Mizoram continues to navigate its security challenges, the collaborative efforts of the Indian Army and the Assam Rifles, in conjunction with the state government, will be pivotal in maintaining peace and fostering development.
