The event, graced by Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command, served as a fitting tribute to the dedication and perseverance of the 99 sea trainees, including international participants, who successfully completed the rigorous training regimen under the guidance of 1TS.

In a poignant ceremony, Vice Admiral V Srinivas, the esteemed Chief Guest, commended the trainees for their exemplary performance during the afloat training phase and presented trophies to the meritorious individuals.

Among the distinguished awardees, Midshipman C Praneeth was honored with the Telescope for the Best All Round Sea Trainee, while Midshipman PPK Reddy received the Binocular for securing the first position in the overall Order of Merit—a testament to their commitment, skill, and leadership qualities.

Addressing the gathering, Vice Admiral V Srinivas delivered an impassioned speech, urging the trainees to embrace the values of dedication, knowledge, and empathy as they embark on their journey as naval officers.

He emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adaptation in the face of evolving warfare dynamics, stressing the need for military leaders to uphold the principles of professionalism and compassion while ensuring the safety, morale, and well-being of their personnel.

“Seva Parmo Dharma,” Vice Admiral V Srinivas reiterated, underscoring the ethos of “Service Before Self” that lies at the heart of the naval profession—an ethos that transcends boundaries and unites naval personnel in their shared commitment to safeguarding the seas and serving humanity.

Following the Valedictory Dinner, a solemn A Divisions ceremony was conducted onboard INS Tir on the 11th of May, 2024, under the auspices of Rear Admiral Satish Shenai, Chief Staff Officer (Training), Southern Naval Command.

This ceremony marked the official conclusion of the sea training phase for the officer trainees, who will now join various frontline naval warships and Coast Guard patrol vessels stationed along the Western and Eastern Seaboard for further consolidation of their training.

Amidst the jubilation and sense of accomplishment, a historic moment unfolded as Assistant Commandant Prishita Juggamah from the Mauritius Coast Guard became the first woman trainee to successfully complete sea training under the auspices of 1TS, breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations of women in maritime service.

As the trainees embark on the next chapter of their naval careers, they carry with them the lessons learned, bonds forged, and the proud legacy of excellence upheld by the First Training Squadron.

With their sights set on the horizon, they stand ready to navigate the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead, guided by the principles of honor, courage, and commitment that define the naval profession.
