Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking, has announced fresh defence contracts worth ₹537 crore, further cementing its position as a key player in India’s defence technology sector. The orders have been received since the company’s last major disclosure on May 16, 2025, according to a regulatory filing.

The new contracts encompass a diverse array of advanced defence systems and equipment, including communication gear, advanced composite communication systems for naval platforms, jammers, upgraded simulators, software solutions, test rigs, spares, and associated services. The deal is expected to significantly boost BEL’s role in supplying cutting-edge technologies to India’s armed forces.

As of April 1, 2025, BEL’s order book stood at a robust ₹71,650 crore, offering strong revenue visibility. In the fourth quarter of FY25, the company reported an 18.4% rise in consolidated net profit at ₹2,127 crore, while revenues climbed 6.8% year-on-year to ₹9,149.6 crore.

Following the latest announcement, BEL’s share price rose by 1.37% intraday on the NSE, reaching ₹391.30 before settling at ₹389.90 on the BSE, up 1.04%.

BEL continues to receive strong support from market analysts, with 24 out of 28 analysts recommending a ‘buy’ rating. The consensus 12-month target price stands at ₹399.80, suggesting a modest upside of around 2.5% from current levels.

Strategically, BEL remains integral to India’s defence indigenisation drive, including its collaboration with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Project Kusha, an indigenous long-range air defence system being developed as an alternative to the Russian S-400. The company is contributing advanced radar and control systems as part of its involvement in this flagship initiative.

This latest order win not only highlights BEL’s continued operational strength but also reflects the growing trust in Indian defence enterprises as the nation accelerates its pursuit of self-reliance in critical military technologies.
