A 21-year-old fashion design student from Vadodara, Khushi Pathan, has developed an innovative solar-powered uniform for Indian soldiers. Created as part of her research project, the unique uniform will enable soldiers to charge their devices on the go and stay connected with their units at all times.
Khushi began working on the project in February this year and completed the design after six months of intensive work. Before finalizing the prototype, she sought inputs from 10–12 civilians and four to five serving officers.
The specially designed uniform incorporates discreet spaces for wiring, ensuring it remains lightweight, flexible, and maintains its military dignity. Currently under trial, the solar-powered uniform is expected to enhance operational efficiency in the field.
Khushi expressed hope that the Indian Army will adopt her innovation soon, making it a valuable step towards self-reliance and technological advancement in soldier gear.
