A 25-year-old Indian Air Force (IAF) engineer died by suicide after jumping from the 24th floor of a residential apartment in Bengaluru on Sunday.
The deceased, identified as Lokesh Pavan Krishna, was residing at the Halasuru military quarters. According to police, he had visited his sister Lakshmiโs residence earlier in the day. His mood reportedly deteriorated during the visit, after which he went to Prestige Jindal City Apartments and jumped from the high-rise. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Local residents immediately alerted the police, who reached the scene without delay. Lokeshโs body was shifted to Nelamangala Public Hospital for postmortem examination. Authorities have registered a case and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the incident.
This tragedy follows another recent case in Bengaluru, where a 27-year-old techie, Shilpa, was found dead by suicide last month in Suddaguntepalya. Her family alleged dowry harassment as the reason behind her death.
Police officials have urged residents to seek timely help in cases of stress, mental health struggles, or domestic disputes.
