Air Marshal MS Sridhar, Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, commissioned in the Medical Branch on December 30, 1986, recently visited the Military Hospital and Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinics in Mhow, a significant training hub for the Indian Army. The visit underscored the regionโs rich military and medical heritage, with the historical British Military Hospital now repurposed as part of the Army Public School.
During his tour, Air Marshal Sridhar shared his extensive experience with young Medical Officers and Specialists, motivating them to deliver patient care with exceptional dedication, professionalism, and compassion. The ECHS, established in 2003, supports this mission by providing healthcare through a network of 427 polyclinics across India, leveraging service medical facilities, government hospitals, and empanelled private institutions to ensure cashless treatment for ex-servicemen and their dependents.
The Air Marshal also reviewed the hospitalโs medical assets and praised the relentless efforts of the Mhow Healers team for upholding the high standards of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). His visit included interactions with the Commandants of key Army establishments the Army War College, Infantry School, and Military College of Telecommunication Engineering reinforcing the spirit of jointness and commitment to operational excellence. Mhow, home to 85,023 residents, plays a pivotal role in training and maintaining the Indian Armyโs readiness.
