In a proactive step towards strengthening cyber resilience within its ranks, the Army Cyber Group organised an intensive cyber security awareness and training programme for personnel of the Sapta Shakti Command.
The session focused on enhancing awareness of the rapidly evolving cyber threat landscape, equipping soldiers with the knowledge and skills required to safeguard themselves and the organisation against malicious online activities.
Key Focus Areas of Training:
- Data & Network Security: Best practices for securing military and personal digital infrastructure against hacking attempts and malware.
- Mobile & Social Media Safety: Awareness about phishing, fake news, and social engineering tactics aimed at compromising security through smartphones and social platforms.
- Financial Fraud Prevention: Educating troops on safe digital banking practices and recognising cyber scams targeting individuals and families.
The programme highlighted real-world case studies and interactive demonstrations to emphasise the importance of responsible digital conduct. Personnel were reminded that cyber security is as critical as physical security in safeguarding national defence systems.
At the conclusion of the event, all ranks pledged to remain cyber vigilant, committing to uphold safe online practices in their professional as well as personal lives. The pledge underlined the Armyโs vision of developing a cyber-aware force capable of responding effectively to both conventional and non-conventional threats.
By integrating cyber awareness into daily routines, the Indian Army aims to create a strong defensive shield against cyber espionage, misinformation campaigns, and digital intrusions that can undermine operational readiness.
This initiative reflects the Armyโs continued emphasis on capacity building, awareness creation, and adoption of best practices in cyber hygiene, ensuring that soldiers remain a step ahead in the digital domain while fulfilling their operational duties.
