In a major step towards strengthening veteran welfare, the Indian Army today inaugurated a state-of-the-art Single Window Clearance Facility at the Army Medical Corps (AMC) Centre & College in Lucknow. The IT-enabled platform will serve as a centralized grievance redressal system for more than one lakh serving personnel, retirees, and veterans of the AMC and Army Dental Corps.
The initiative was launched by Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, Commander of the Central Command, during his visit to the institution. Officials said the system is expected to cut grievance processing times by nearly 40%, bringing greater transparency, accuracy, and efficiency to welfare administration.
The AMC Centre & College, established in its present form in 1932, has long been a hub for military medical education. It trains officers of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) as well as personnel from friendly foreign nations, equipping them to meet the medical challenges of modern warfare, including counter-insurgency operations.
Lt Gen Sengupta, while reviewing training and infrastructure during his visit, lauded the high standards maintained at the institution and emphasized the Armyโs commitment to veteran care. He noted that the new facility aligns with the ethos of โSeva, Samarpan, Sankalpโ (Service, Dedication, Resolve), underscoring the Armyโs effort to empower soldiers and provide long-term support to veterans.
Defence officials said the Lucknow-based digital model may be replicated across other Army establishments, setting a benchmark for veteran-focused administration in the armed forces.
