Fourteen Young Officers (YOs) undergoing Regimental Orientation Training at the Army Ordnance Corps (AOC) Centre visited the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Secunderabad, as part of their professional development programme. The visit aimed to familiarise the officers with the pivotal role of MCEME in shaping the Indian Army’s technological capabilities and enhancing operational readiness.
The visit commenced with an introductory briefing that highlighted MCEME’s critical role in delivering advanced technical training to officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), and technicians of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME). This included an overview of its contribution to the sustenance, innovation, and modernisation of key operational assets.
During the visit, the officers were introduced to cutting-edge training methodologies and witnessed demonstrations of various indigenisation initiatives that are instrumental in maintaining and upgrading weapon systems, aviation platforms, electronic warfare equipment, and communication technologies.
The emphasis was also placed on logistics integration and support systems, showcasing how seamless coordination between technology and logistics enhances the Army’s overall combat effectiveness.
The interaction further highlighted the importance of jointness, integration, and inter-service cooperation in meeting future battlefield challenges.
The visit not only strengthened professional bonds between the EME and AOC but also fostered a deeper understanding of how technology-driven sustainment plays a decisive role in building a more agile, adaptive, and future-ready force.
