Pune, 28 October 2025 — Air Force Station Pune will host the inaugural edition of the “Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon” on 2 November 2025 at 0545 hours, at the Station Sports Ground, Lohegaon. The event is being organised as a tribute to the gallantry and supreme sacrifice of Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, the only Param Vir Chakra (PVC) awardee from the Indian Air Force.
The marathon is a celebration of the indomitable spirit, courage, and ethos of the Indian Air Force while promoting fitness, patriotism, and unity among participants. The event is expected to witness wide participation from serving IAF personnel, veterans, their families, and enthusiastic civilians from Pune and neighbouring areas.

The run will be held in three categories — 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km — encouraging individuals of all age groups and fitness levels to take part in this tribute that embodies the Air Force motto, ‘Touch the Sky with Glory.’
This Pune edition forms part of the Pan-India Sekhon Indian Air Force Marathon being simultaneously organised across 61 Air Force Stations nationwide, symbolising a unified tribute to the nation’s brave air warriors.
