In a remarkable display of medical professionalism and compassion, the Combat Healers of the Indian Armyโs Battle Axe Division saved the life of a four-day-old infant from Ghantiyali, a remote border village in Jaisalmer district.
The newborn had stopped feeding and developed severe neonatal hypoglycaemia resulting from physiological jaundice โ a life-threatening condition in infants if not treated promptly. Demonstrating exceptional diagnostic acumen, the Army medical team swiftly identified the condition and initiated a coordinated evacuation under challenging conditions.
Through timely administration of oral dextrose and continuous monitoring, the Combat Healers successfully stabilized the baby, preventing a potential fatality.
The life-saving intervention highlights the Indian Armyโs enduring commitment to โNation Firstโ, reflecting both its operational excellence and humanitarian spirit. The prompt response and professionalism of the Battle Axe Division once again reaffirm the Armyโs dedication to serving the people, especially in remote and underserved border regions.
