The Kharga Warriors showcased their operational innovation and combat readiness by organising a first-of-its-kind Drone Engagement Competition at the Naraingarh Field Firing Ranges, aimed at enhancing the Indian Army’s capability to neutralise emerging aerial threats.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 59 teams representing all arms and services, each demonstrating their cutting-edge skills in detecting, tracking, and neutralising hostile drones under both day and night conditions. This large-scale exercise underlined the Army’s growing focus on counter-drone operations a critical domain in modern warfare and validated new operational techniques to bolster force protection and battlefield effectiveness.
During the prize distribution ceremony, Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Kharga Corps, commended all participating teams for their ingenuity, precision, and dedication in achieving proficiency in Hard-Kill capabilities a decisive measure to eliminate hostile UAV threats. He lauded their efforts in advancing the Army’s preparedness and ensuring superior operational effectiveness in future conflict scenarios.
This pioneering initiative by the Kharga Warriors marks a significant step in the Indian Army’s ongoing transformation journey, reflecting its commitment to staying strong and capable, imposing national will, and continuously adapting to evolving battlefield technologies under Operation Sindoor.
Preparations for even more advanced iterations of such competitions are already underway, signalling a new era of tactical innovation and readiness.
