Lieutenant General Vikas Rohella has assumed the appointment of Engineer-in-Chief of the Indian Army, taking charge of the Corps of Engineers in a ceremony marked by tradition and solemnity.
On the occasion, Lt Gen Rohella paid homage at the National War Memorial, laying a wreath in honour of the Bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice in service of the nation.
Addressing the Corps of Engineers, the new Engineer-in-Chief urged all ranks to uphold the rich legacy of selfless service while embracing innovation and technology absorption to enhance the Army’s operational preparedness in the evolving battlefield environment.
The Corps of Engineers, an integral arm of the Indian Army, plays a vital role in combat engineering, mobility support, infrastructure development, and nation-building projects. Under Lt Gen Rohella’s leadership, the Corps is expected to continue its drive towards technological excellence and operational effectiveness.
