The Medium Machine Gun (MMG) and Automatic Grenade Launcher (AGL) Course for Junior Leaders concluded today at The Infantry School, Mhow, marking the successful completion of another intensive training module designed to enhance the combat effectiveness of young infantry leaders.
The course witnessed participation from Indian Army personnel as well as seven Junior Leaders from Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs) โ Bhutan, Botswana, and the Maldives โ underscoring Indiaโs growing role in defence cooperation and capacity-building among partner nations.

Over the training period, the participants underwent rigorous instruction in both tactical and technical employment of company support weapon systems. The curriculum focused on live-fire accuracy, battlefield coordination, and weapon deployment in diverse operational scenarios, aimed at improving overall battlefield proficiency, leadership skills, and confidence among the trainees.

Recognising outstanding performance, Naik Chandan Singh Koranga of 9 KUMAON was adjudged the Best Student, while Naik Manoj Kumar Poonia of 28 RAJPUT secured the Second Best Student position. Staff Sergeant Vikram Ali of the Maldives was honoured as the Best Foreign Student, reflecting the high standard of participation from international trainees.

The successful conduct of the course reaffirms the Infantry Schoolโs commitment to producing technically proficient and tactically sound leaders, both from India and partner nations, capable of excelling in modern combat environments.
