Defence Minister Rajnath Singh celebrated the eve of Vijayadashami with soldiers in Bhuj, underscoring the importance of adaptability, discipline, and technological readiness in meeting modern security challenges.
During the traditional Barakhana, Singh conveyed festival greetings and praised the courage and resilience of the people of Kutch, recalling their sacrifices during the 1971 war, the Kargil conflict, and their remarkable recovery after the 2001 earthquake.
In his address, the Defence Minister highlighted that modern threats such as terrorism, cyber warfare, drone technology, and information warfare demand not just advanced weaponry but also mental resilience and continuous learning.
โWars are not won by weapons alone, but by discipline, morale, and constant readiness. Embrace new technologies, make training an integral part of your routine, and prepare yourself for every situation,โ he told the troops.
Reiterating the governmentโs โnon-negotiableโ commitment to the welfare and modernization of the armed forces, Singh emphasized that the well-being of soldiers and their families remains a top priority. He added that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modiโs leadership, is progressing rapidly towards self-reliance in defence, with the dedication of the armed forces playing a central role in building a strong and developed nation.
The event was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Southern Army Commander Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, and Corps Commander, 12 Corps, Lieutenant General Aditya Vikram Singh Rathee.
Singhโs interaction with the troops reinforced the importance of discipline, training, welfare, and technological adaptation, while honoring the indomitable spirit of Bhuj and Kutch as enduring symbols of bravery.
