In a solemn and impressive ceremonial parade held at the Naval Base, Visakhapatnam, Rear Admiral Alok Ananda, YSM, assumed charge as the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet (FOCEF) from Rear Admiral Susheel Menon, VSM. The change of command marks a significant leadership transition within the prestigious Eastern Fleet โ the Sword Arm of the Indian Navy.

Commissioned into the Indian Navy in July 1993, Rear Admiral Alok Ananda is an alumnus of the Naval Academy, the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington, and the National Defence College, Thailand.
A specialist in Navigation and Direction, he has held several key operational and staff appointments, demonstrating exceptional leadership and expertise throughout his illustrious naval career. His command tenures include INS Satpura, a frontline stealth frigate, and INS Ghorpad, an amphibious warfare vessel.
Before assuming command of the Eastern Fleet, Rear Admiral Alok Ananda served as the Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Policy & Plans) at Naval Headquarters, New Delhi, where he played a pivotal role in shaping strategic initiatives, policy formulation, and long-term capability development for the Indian Navy.
