Lieutenant General Raghu Srinivasan, Director General Border Roads (DGBR) visited Project Swastik on Tuesday to assess the ongoing restoration of the Lachen axis, which suffered extensive damage during the June 2025 cloudburst.

During the visit, the DGBR inspected the Taram Chu Bridge site, where a Bailey Suspension Bridge is being readied for launch. Once completed, the bridge will restore vital connectivity along the axis, crucial for both civilian movement and military logistics.

The DGBR also met with the General Officer Commanding, 33 Corps, and the Commander of the Chaten Brigade to discuss operational synergy and the progress of key border infrastructure projects in the region.

Later, he called on the Chief Secretary of Sikkim, reiterating BROโs commitment to supporting the state and expressing gratitude for the administrationโs continuous cooperation and assistance.
