Rear Admiral Ravnish Seth, VSM, has officially taken over as the Admiral Superintendent of the Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY), Karwar, on 24 November 2025, marking a significant leadership appointment in the Indian Navyโs maritime maintenance and operational support ecosystem.

Commissioned into the Engineering Branch on 30 November 1991, Rear Admiral Seth brings over three decades of distinguished service. An alumnus of DSSC Wellington, Naval War College Goa, and the National Defence College, New Delhi, he holds multiple academic qualifications from JNU, DIAT Pune, Pune University, and Madras University.
A highly accomplished Marine Engineer, he secured the first position in the Marine Engineering Specialisation Course at INS Shivaji. His sea tenures include deployments onboard frontline platforms such as INS Khukri, INS Nishank, and INS Delhi, along with a key overseas assignment with the Mauritius Coast Guard as Staff Officer (Technical).

Throughout his career, Rear Admiral Seth has held several pivotal appointments, including MSAQ, DGM (Cap) & AGM (Production) at Naval Dockyard Mumbai, JDOP (Tech) at NHQ/MoD, and Officer-in-Charge of GTTT (Mumbai). As the Commanding Officer of INS Shivaji, the establishment was awarded the prestigious Presidentโs Colourโan honour reflecting excellence in service and training standards.
Upon elevation to Flag Rank, he served as Director of DMDE Hyderabad and Chief Staff Officer (Tech) at the Eastern Naval Command. His exceptional service earned him the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) in 2025.

As Admiral Superintendent of NSRY Karwar, Rear Admiral Seth is expected to play a key role in strengthening the Navyโs repair, refit, and maintenance capabilities in support of Indiaโs growing maritime operations on the western seaboard.
