In the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah, which severely disrupted communication networks across parts of Sri Lanka, the Indian Army’s Shatrujeet Brigade Integrated Task Force swiftly stepped in to restore vital infrastructure.
Deployed under OperationSagar Bandhu, the team carried out rapid repairs on the cyclone-damaged Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) that had caused a major communications blackout in Mahiyanganaya, near Kandy. Their timely intervention enabled the restoration of essential connectivity to thousands of affected residents and local authorities.
