Air Marshal Surat Singh, AVSM, VM, VSM, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Eastern Air Command, visited INS Vikrant on January 18, 2026, underscoring the growing emphasis on jointness and integrated warfighting among India’s Armed Forces.
During the visit, the Air Marshal was briefed in detail on the aircraft carrier’s advanced combat systems, aviation operations, and force projection capabilities. The briefings highlighted INS Vikrant’s operational readiness and its pivotal role in maritime air operations, power projection, and sea control in the Indian Ocean Region.
Interacting with naval personnel, Air Marshal Surat Singh appreciated the high standards of professionalism, preparedness, and synergy demonstrated onboard. He emphasised the importance of close coordination between the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy to ensure seamless joint operations, particularly in the context of evolving multi-domain threats.
