Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), visited the Armoured Corps Centre & School (ACC&S), Ahilyanagar, on January 5, 2026, to review training standards, infrastructure development, and ongoing modernisation initiatives.
During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the institutionโs training philosophy, curriculum updates, and recent infrastructure enhancements aimed at preparing armoured formations for contemporary and future battlefield environments. He commended the Centre and School for its forward-looking training initiatives and continuous efforts to upgrade facilities in line with evolving operational requirements.

Lt Gen Sharma particularly appreciated the modernisation and innovation measures being undertaken in alignment with the Indian Armyโs Year of Technology Absorption and the broader Decade of Transformation. He noted that the Armoured Corps plays a critical role in manoeuvre warfare and must remain at the forefront of technological integration, including advancements in platforms, sensors, networking, and battlefield management systems.

Interacting with officers, instructors, and faculty members, the Army Commander urged them to continuously refine and adapt training methodologies to keep pace with rapid technological change. He emphasised the importance of incorporating lessons from recent conflicts, fostering innovation, and encouraging a culture of experimentation to ensure that armoured leaders and crews remain operationally sharp.

Lt Gen Sharma underlined that the future battlefield will demand agility, speed, precision, and seamless integration with other arms and services. He expressed confidence that the Armoured Corps Centre & School, through its professional excellence and adaptive training approach, will continue to shape an agile, innovative, and future-ready Armoured Corps capable of meeting emerging security challenges.
