The opening ceremony of the 13th edition of the India–Kyrgyzstan Joint Military Exercise KHANJAR 2026 was held at Misamari in Assam, marking another milestone in bilateral defence cooperation between India and Kyrgyzstan.
The exercise is scheduled to be conducted from 04 to 17 February 2026 and aims to enhance interoperability between the Special Forces of both nations. Training activities will focus on urban warfare and counter-terrorism operations under a United Nations mandate, reflecting contemporary operational challenges faced in peacekeeping and stability missions.
Exercise KHANJAR 2026 provides an important platform for the exchange of best practices, tactical drills, and operational concepts between the participating contingents of the Indian Army and the Kyrgyz Armed Forces.
