Inspector General Yoginder Dhaka, TM, assumed the helm of the Coast Guard Region (East) from Inspector General Datwinder Singh Saini, PTM, TM, in a ceremonial parade held at the Indian Coast Guard Air Station Chennai on 06 February 2026.
The change of command parade was conducted with customary military precision, marking the formal transfer of leadership of the Eastern Seaboard of the Indian Coast Guard. Senior officers and personnel witnessed the occasion, reflecting the significance of the command transition.

Inspector General Yoginder Dhaka is an alumnus of the Naval Academy and the Naval War College and brings with him rich and diverse experience gained through a wide range of appointments both ashore and afloat. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has built an impeccable track record in operations, administration, and human resource management, contributing significantly to maritime security and organisational effectiveness.

As Commander, Coast Guard Region (East), Inspector General Dhaka will be responsible for safeguarding Indiaโs extensive eastern maritime frontier, enhancing coastal security, coordinating search and rescue operations, and strengthening inter-agency cooperation in the region.
The assumption of command underscores the Indian Coast Guardโs continued emphasis on capable leadership, professionalism, and operational readiness to meet emerging maritime security challenges.
