Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Central Command, reviewed the operational readiness of troops deployed in forward areas of the Garhwal Region, reaffirming the Indian Army’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding the nation’s frontiers.

During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the security situation and preparedness along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). He commended the formations for their seamless integration of advanced technologies that enable round-the-clock surveillance, significantly enhancing situational awareness, early warning and rapid response capabilities in challenging high-altitude environments.

Interacting closely with troops deployed in inhospitable terrain and extreme cold conditions, Lt Gen Sengupta lauded their grit, vigilance and unwavering morale. He acknowledged the demanding nature of their deployment and appreciated their professionalism and dedication to duty under harsh climatic conditions.
The Army Commander exhorted all ranks to remain innovative in their operational approach and to maximise combat effectiveness through optimal utilisation of newly inducted weapons systems and state-of-the-art equipment. The visit underscored Central Command’s emphasis on technology-enabled preparedness, high morale and mission readiness to effectively meet emerging security challenges.
