Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, reviewed the operational preparedness of the elite ‘Desert Scorpions’ during a visit to the formation, where he was briefed on its cutting-edge warfighting capabilities and readiness for future conflicts.
The Army Commander was apprised of the unit’s seamless induction of next-generation weapon systems and its high level of preparedness to undertake specialised missions aimed at dominating the battlespace in emerging conflict scenarios. He assessed the formation’s enhanced multi-modal deep insertion capabilities and its integration into Multi-Domain Operations, positioning the unit as a decisive force multiplier for strategic and high-impact missions.

During the visit to the specialist training facilities and the Combat Diving complex, Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth witnessed firsthand the precision, agility, and advanced technological edge that characterise the unit’s Special Operations ethos. The demonstrations highlighted the unit’s ability to operate across diverse domains with speed, stealth, and accuracy.
Commending the troops for their exceptional professionalism, combat readiness, and culture of excellence, the Army Commander exhorted all ranks to further accelerate technology absorption and remain relentlessly future-ready across the full spectrum of high-intensity warfare. He emphasised that sustained innovation, adaptability, and operational audacity will be key to maintaining dominance in the evolving character of war.
The visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining highly specialised, technologically empowered forces capable of executing complex missions in contested and multi-domain operational environments.
