Lt Gen Harbinder Singh Vandra, AVSM, SM assumed charge as the General Officer Commanding of the Madhya Bharat Area at Jabalpur on 01 February 2026. On assuming command, the General Officer emphasised the imperatives of operational effectiveness, focused and mission-oriented training, troop welfare, and administrative efficiency. He highlighted the need for sustained readiness and adaptability to strengthen the formation and ensure it remains prepared to meet evolving operational challenges.
Lt Gen Vandra underscored that a balanced focus on professionalism, welfare of personnel, and efficient systems is key to maintaining high morale and combat effectiveness. He reiterated his commitment to leading the formation with resolve and preparing it for future challenges through innovation, discipline, and teamwork.
The assumption of command marks a renewed thrust towards strengthening the operational preparedness and administrative robustness of Madhya Bharat Area in line with the Indian Army’s overarching vision of readiness for the future.
