Major General Sanil Mohan assumed the appointment of Commandant, Command Hospital (Southern Command), Pune on 01 February 2026, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the leadership of one of the Indian Armyโs premier tertiary care medical institutions.
An alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College, Major General Sanil Mohan completed both his graduation and post-graduation at AFMC. A highly respected Professor of Anaesthesiology and an accomplished Instructor in Trauma Care, he brings with him extensive clinical, academic, and administrative experience gained over a distinguished medical career.
Prior to assuming his present appointment in the rank of Major General, he served as Brigadier Medical with the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing medical preparedness and strengthening trauma response capabilities in a strategically important operational environment.
Addressing all ranks of Command Hospital (Southern Command), Pune on the occasion, Major General Sanil Mohan exhorted personnel to uphold the noblest traditions of military medicine.
