Surgeon Vice Admiral Vivek Hande, Director General (Organisation & Personnel), Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), visited Command Hospital (Air Force), Bengaluru on 12 February 2026 to review the functioning and ongoing developments at the premier military medical establishment. He was received by the Commandant and senior officers of the hospital, who presented a comprehensive briefing on patient care services, training initiatives, best practices, and recent innovations undertaken by the institution.

During the briefing, the Flag Officer was apprised of the hospital’s commitment to delivering high standards of clinical care to serving personnel, veterans, and their families. Detailed discussions were held on specialist and super-specialist services, advancements in medical procedures, adoption of modern technologies, and improvements in patient-centric systems designed to enhance treatment outcomes and overall hospital efficiency. The Commandant also highlighted various initiatives aimed at continuous professional development of medical officers, nursing staff, and paramedical personnel.
Surg Vice Adm Vivek Hande visited multiple departments within the hospital to gain first-hand insight into operational workflows and clinical practices. He interacted with medical professionals and support staff, appreciating their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to maintaining excellence in healthcare delivery within the Armed Forces framework. He acknowledged the institution’s role as a key tertiary care centre in the region and its contribution to strengthening military medical preparedness.

A significant part of the visit included a review of the site for the upcoming New Modern Multi-storey Hospital Complex, which is set to substantially enhance infrastructure and expand treatment capabilities. The proposed facility is expected to incorporate advanced diagnostic systems, expanded critical care units, modern operation theatres, and improved patient amenities. The Flag Officer examined the progress of ongoing construction and expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of development.
Concluding his visit, Surg Vice Adm Vivek Hande commended Command Hospital (AF), Bengaluru for maintaining high standards of patient care while simultaneously advancing infrastructure development.
