The prestigious Commando Course of the Indian Army culminated at the Junior Leaders Wing (JL Wing), Belagavi on 27 March 2026, marking the successful completion of one of the most mentally gruelling and physically demanding training programmes in the military. The course saw participation not only from Indian Army personnel but also from 22 officers representing Friendly Foreign Countries, highlighting India’s growing role in international military training and cooperation.
Designed to push participants to their absolute limits, the Commando Course is known for its intense regimen that tests endurance, resilience, tactical acumen, and leadership under extreme conditions. Over the duration of the course, trainees undergo rigorous physical drills, survival exercises, combat simulations, and high-pressure decision-making scenarios aimed at preparing them for real-world combat environments.

The closing ceremony was presided over by Major General Rakesh Manocha, SM, VSM, Commander of JL Wing, who delivered the final address and congratulated all participants for their determination and successful completion of the course. He emphasised the importance of such elite training in shaping future leaders capable of operating effectively in challenging and unpredictable situations.
Among the awardees, Lieutenant Karan Singh Bisht of the Dogra Regiment was adjudged the Best Officer Trainee for his outstanding performance and leadership throughout the course. Lance Naik Vicky Pullom of the Special Forces was recognised as the Best NCO Trainee, reflecting exceptional skill, endurance, and professionalism.
In the international category, Captain MS Isuranga of the Sri Lanka Army was adjudged the Best Officer Trainee among participants from Friendly Foreign Countries, underscoring the high standards and competitive spirit of the course.
The successful completion of the Commando Course by both Indian and foreign participants reinforced strong military ties, mutual respect, and the spirit of camaraderie. The event once again highlighted the Indian Army’s commitment to excellence in training and its role in fostering global defence partnerships.
