The 7th edition of the bilateral military exercise Exercise Dustlik 2026 between the Indian Army and the Uzbekistan Army commenced at the Gurumsaray Field Training Area in Namangan on April 12, 2026.
The exercise will continue till April 25, aiming to enhance operational synergy, interoperability, and joint tactical capabilities between the two forces.

Focus on Joint Special Operations
Exercise Dustlik 2026 is centred on Joint Special Operations, particularly targeting the neutralisation of unlawful armed groups, reflecting contemporary counter-terrorism scenarios.
The exercise also emphasises the integration of niche technologies, enabling both armies to improve coordination and adopt best practices in modern warfare.

Opening Ceremony and Participation
The opening ceremony was attended by Major General Saidov Oybek Azadovich, Commander of the Eastern Military District of Uzbekistan, who graced the event as the Chief Guest.

Strengthening Defence Cooperation
The exercise highlights the growing defence ties between India and Uzbekistan, reinforcing their shared commitment to regional stability, global peace, and security.
Exercise Dustlik continues to serve as a platform for building camaraderie, mutual trust, and operational coordination between the two armies.
