In a significant move aimed at expanding opportunities for aspiring candidates, the Indian Air Force has removed the minimum percentage criteria in both 10+2 and graduation for candidates applying through the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) entry.
The decision is expected to widen the talent pool and provide greater access to motivated youth aspiring to serve as officers in the Indian Air Force.
The revised eligibility norms are aimed at making the officer entry process more inclusive while continuing to maintain the rigorous selection standards of the Air Force through written examinations, Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews, medical assessments, and merit-based evaluation.
AFCAT serves as one of the primary entry routes for induction into various branches of the Indian Air Force, including Flying, Ground Duty (Technical), and Ground Duty (Non-Technical) branches.
The move reflects the Indian Air Force’s continued focus on attracting capable and dynamic candidates from diverse educational backgrounds while strengthening its future leadership pool for evolving operational and technological requirements.
