Major General Amaresh Gunjan, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding the Golden Key Division, reviewed the operational preparedness and combat readiness of the division’s artillery units during a visit focused on future warfare capabilities and technological transformation.
During the visit, the General Officer inaugurated TORQUE, a state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Training Node designed to enhance the Indian Army’s expertise in drone operations, surveillance, reconnaissance, and emerging battlefield technologies.

The newly established facility is aimed at preparing soldiers for the evolving character of warfare, where the integration of unmanned systems, precision targeting, and real-time intelligence is becoming increasingly critical to operational success.
Maj Gen Gunjan also witnessed innovation displays and demonstrations highlighting the use of advanced technologies to strengthen battlefield awareness, operational effectiveness, and combat readiness.

Addressing the troops, he emphasised the importance of combining technology, training, and professional excellence to meet future security challenges. He encouraged personnel to remain adaptive, innovative, and mission-focused in an increasingly technology-driven operational environment.
Officials stated that the establishment of TORQUE represents a significant step towards enhancing the Army’s unmanned systems capabilities and aligns with the broader vision of the Indian Army to modernise its warfighting capabilities under the ongoing transformation initiatives.
