The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the Selection List for Autumn Term Courses 2026, announcing the names of candidates selected to undergo training at the prestigious Air Force Academy beginning on 29 June 2026.
According to the notification issued by Air Headquarters, the selection of candidates has been made after considering branch-wise vacancies, order of merit, eligibility criteria, medical fitness and preferences submitted by the candidates during the selection process.
The IAF clarified that the selection remains subject to medical fitness certification by the competent Armed Forces medical authorities and submission of all requisite educational and eligibility documents.
Call Letters to Be Issued
The Air Force has informed that joining instructions and call letters are being dispatched to selected candidates through Speed Post and email. Candidates can also download the instruction booklet and necessary forms from the official Air Force careers portal.
Provision for Candidates Awaiting Final Degree Certificates
To ensure that eligible candidates are not disadvantaged due to delays in university results, the IAF has introduced a ‘Bond Basis’ induction mechanism.
Candidates whose examinations have concluded but who are unable to submit proof of obtaining the qualifying degree by 10 June 2026 may seek provisional induction on a Bond Basis.
Such candidates will be required to submit an additional bond along with a Demand Draft of ₹90,403 in favour of the Commandant, Air Force Academy, payable at Secunderabad. The bond and draft are to be carried personally and submitted at the Academy during reporting.
Candidates inducted under this provision must produce their original or provisional degree certificates and mark sheets by 27 August 2026. Upon successful verification of eligibility, the deposited amount will be refunded in full.
However, failure to submit the required academic documents by the stipulated deadline will result in termination of training, and the cost of training will be adjusted against the deposited amount.
Reporting Schedule at Air Force Academy
Selected candidates in possession of signed joining instructions have been directed to report at the Air Force Academy between 27 and 28 June 2026.
Reporting will be permitted only between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM at the Academy’s main gate. The IAF has emphasized that late reporting will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Candidates have also been instructed to inform the Academy of their travel and arrival plans in advance and comply with all joining requirements specified in the instruction booklet.
Commitment to Transparency
In its notification, the Indian Air Force reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and advised candidates not to offer bribes under any circumstances. The Air Force has also provided channels for reporting any instances of corruption or malpractice.
The release of the Autumn Term 2026 selection list marks another important step in the induction of future officers and personnel into the Indian Air Force, one of the country’s premier military services, as it continues to strengthen its human resource base for emerging operational and technological challenges.
